To lighten things up:
"extra" and "more than normal" to us Texans (insert deep southern drawel) means that the animal has an extra head or antlers.  So for me, I always want to see the pictures of the extras......

I can relate to the language barrier.  However when I am going through ads, I always narrow down my search to the US only! So when I submitted this thread, I was talking in reference to ads here in the US.

I also do agree with not posting the asking price as I have placed an ad here before and did not put an ad. But I do feel like there should be some requirements in order to place an ad.
Such things as, Pedigree, pictures, and the age of dog, That should be the very least required. JMO

Something else that I can't understand. Why do people put pictures of ancestors 3-4 generations back in a pedigree to sell puppies?  Why not use pics of the pups being advertised.
Why say pups are imported when the nearest imports are generations back. People really need to learn pedigrees, their dogs, and the what they want to sell BEFORE placing an ad as to not mislead the potential buyer.

OMG, another thing is price some of these people ask for dogs and/or puppies. People need to learn!!!  Some people think they will get rich and make a living on breeding and selling puppies. Good Grief, people, LEARN!!

OK, I quit!!  Im done ranting!  Woof woof, I feel so much better!  Thinking

Although you don't see it much here, I laugh at "It breaks my heart to do this" or "My loss is your gain"....Well if your heart is so broken then keep the damn dog.
I like price on ads because if the price is too much, then I'm not going to waste their time or mine on inquiring. Dealing with a lot of byb'ers in rescue, some of these ads are just that, a byb who thinks they hit the big time as to people who have been around the block a few times. I don't think a "big blocky head" is really going to make much difference when the dog is working.

I agree with Paul. Submitting a price tag is an essential to me. If breeders/sellers aren't willing to disclosed their price on their adv. or on their website clearly has something to hide. Yes I can understand that it's between the seller and the buyer, but what am I? A potential buyer who gets annoyed when I have to keep emailing breeders 'Whats your puppies prices?" because they decided to keep that information private. What else are they hiding too? I'm the suspicious type.

My favorite is when they can't spell the name of the breed they are advertising... AWESOME GERMAN SHEPARD... Roll eyes

I also hate seeing people advertising grand father and great grandfather..

by Hutchins on 14 April 2013 - 12:04

1020ma, OMG that has to be another one of my pet peeves in ads!!  I love the "rare" color GSD ads. Talk about rare!  Why would anyone want to buy a "throw back" that is so NOT CORRECT and pay mega bucks for a major fault in the breed?  Lord, I really don't need to get started on that.  Angry
