I'm ok, really... being a trollop is interesting for me... lol.

We're (I am anyway) all just getting a wee bit excited... I can't wait for our first show!  None of us will fall out with each other we're all on the same team; it's just hard when we're all so far appart, we can't meet so easily and exchange ideas, catch up on the latest news etc.  On top of that, we have to think about what we post on here... because the KC do read PDB... for sure!

2010 is going to be a very good year for us!

If a Trollop is what you would be interested in being, then no probs missbeeb (or should that now be missdeed?), a trollop can be what we officially call you from now on if you want ?!!?!!?   Takes all sorts to make a world I guess!

Sue x

ps - but what does young Jimmy feel about his mum being a trollop? Cool  , angry , sad . heartbroken , embarrassed   , indifferent  or secretly proud  !!!   lol

Jimmy's cool about it!  Can you still be a TROLLOP with no takers... so to speak?  LOL

I only check the PDB every couple of weeks so I may have missed something but I have a question.

Has any action similar to the refusal of CC's been taken against any of the other breeds featured in the program that started all of this? It appears to me that Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Boxers have far more serious problems than our breed. If no action has been taken against them why is the GSD singled out? Who would profit from CC's being removed from Clubs who favour the international type of GSD? Why will the KC not remove the word "Alsatian" from the breed name?

Far from disappearing from the scene I believe that Gary Gray and his fellow "Alsatianists" have far more clout at the KC than we think.

Of course not, Blackrat (what a name!) the pleasure is all ours!  Gary Gray is a KC member, so he will have more clout at the KC, but who cares?  Having watched him judge at a Champ' show in 2008, the KC is VERY welcome to him, for he's no good to us!

Personally I think we should all be bombarding our MP's with this, We all live in different constituencies so I can all target a different MP, if someone ( I.E. Sue or Mo etc ) wrote a letter expressing our grievance we could send a copy to all our respective MP's.  If 10 MP's recieve letters I am sure 1 would help us, Because at the end of the day its their job!!

What do you all think??

Also Sheila Rankin once gave me the number to a dog law solicitor, aparently he is a solicitor who also specialises in law relating to dogs,

Might it be worth giving him a ring?? or has someone also tryed this. I sadly no longer have the number but I am sure Sheila would pass it on to whoever wanted to ring.

Sue B, you're right, I am not the best person to champion your cause - although not for the reason you say - and it's one of the reason I have not got in touch.

I support your call for tougher health tests and share your concern about the whole way the KC is handling this. The new Q+A is particularly laughable (unless the A stands for Anything But A Straight Answer).) But, equally, I have made no secret of the fact that I think the KC is right to demand that the conformation of the show GSD has to change.

Given how strongly I feel about the conformation, I would be a bit of a mixed blessing to your cause. But, for what it's worth, I'll continue to call it where I think the KC is getting it wrong - and of course I am always happy to hear of cases that illustrate your good point regarding the KC bullying you regarding health while continuing to register dogs with health problems or from particularly shoddy breeders. We have a constantly-growing dossier.

The reply from Jemima is very interesting, if the continued "growing dossier" contains the help required to obtain some action to be taken with regards to our aim to get the KC to accept they need to stop the registrations of dogs that fail or have no Health checks in place then I can live with the "mixed blessing to our cause" with regards to conformation. I see the  type of GSD in conformation which is recognized throughout the world on the International stage apart from that of  our own UK KC  as something she would have more difficulty in changeing. Although the current situation within the KC regards the current registering of GSD and even other breeds where they can fail the Health checks she could be an asset and help with our cause.

Hi  Jemima,

I think your addition to the thread is very good and very fair.   Can you tell me what is your main concern about the construction of the GSD. I know your programme was shocking, and made for very uncomfortable viewing in places, which was a good eye opener on many breeds -  but  would love you to see the same gsd`s that were filmed running free in fields at their homes, and not on slippy floors -   anyway this is perhaps taking us off the thread, but I am sure most of us would welcome your input on the issue that we all agree on - which is that the KC cant hope to help health issues by the way they have gone about this document - and it has only served to alianate the GSD fraternity and make the divide even further - and for what its worth, its shown the KC to be an Old Boys Club at the very best, and old boys clubs were left behind in the 50`s as they had no place in their market for forward thinking individuals who could organise and get things done properly.   Mo.
