Well Dave I guess most of us here share your optimism and love of the GSD, Refreshing to know that at least.
It was not our intention to start a slanging match, just defending our breeding that's all.

Carole Our sentiments entirely--Thank God!!-- For someone who possess a Law Degree you'd think that would take intelligence, still there's no substitute for common sense. I would hate to be defended by him, after all he's got us hung, drawn and quartered all by himself.Maybe he does like the really exaggerated type. The trouble is I would sooner be in the middle of the road dodging traffic. than to be so far on either extreme as to end up in a rut in the gutter with no where left to go. and before I get my head chewed off that s not meant for the majority, just the real extremists on either side.Who couldn't be open minded if they tried.
You see Dave this is why I have to agree slightly with missbeeb, It may never happen because of these people who cannot look at a dog and see its merits without quoting type.
Our dogs please our eyes and we love them very much, that's all that matters at the end of the day.

I'm glad you've not been put off by Pencil... as Videx once said, "it's a shame his father didn't have a rubber".

Once in a while you'll see a post of his that isn't angry, nasty or spiteful... maybe there's a good person fighting to get out, but the  wins!  He's never glad for anyone, I've never seen one, "well done" or "congratulations" to anyone... it must be hard being him.

I have the "international type" myself, but thinking back, wasn't the former breed record holder in the UK a "middle of the road" type?

Fab' dog!

by Fayrelander on 04 April 2010 - 21:04

I believe the most recent breed record holder was Ch Gayvilles Nilo with 52 cc's Although Ch Norwulf going for gold at Slatehouse was very close behind him, You could argue that Nilo got a lot of his cc's under the same judges, Whereby Going for gold got his all from different ones, still numerically it was Nilo.
All time record holder though was Youre right missbeeb Ch Royvons Red Rum With 59 cc,s
Not sure how it works I presume a dog remains the record holder until they die or get beaten, so presumably as Nilo died before Kane (Going for Gold) he then became the record holder, as Kane also died last year I do't know who the current holder is.          Red rum will  continue the title of all time record holder until his total is beaten?
Wow 59 cc's better get going then eh.

fayrelander.
i have come back to you as this is a slightly different subject.just to point out that surely the breed record holder would be the dog with the MOST cc's which i believe is Gayvilles Nilo.
I would be interested in the list of judges for Going for Gold, as you made 2 statements a) that Going for Gold
was not far in the count up behind Nilo. and b) that they were all DIFFERENT judges,-thats one hell of a lot of judges!
as you are obviously a friend of mister grays could you tell me how many of those judges were of the international correct type please ?

ps. I would suppose also that Nilo would get more kudos because he was bred by the owners-not bought in.

miss beeb-you have me wrong miss beeb-i get angry when people are so far up their own backsides that they start to believe their own publicity.also i like the general public to make up their own minds. is it me or is it not odd that fayrelander keeps mentioning the Grays-and isnt he doing crufts next year ? and there you have it.
