Hip x rays tell a lot about diet too.....so if your breeding and feeding your puppys who will be a part of your breeding program, having nice hips can save or make big bucks too....
Enjoy looking into to this and talk with folks who have.
The key is having a good balanced diet ready to feed in raw as it helps for those who are "too busy". What I find interesting is these "top quality kibbles" cost as much or more per pound then my pre made raw diet. Go figure.
As for the statement about more dogs have better health on kibble then raw, you really cant make that stuff, that is funny right there.
However, to each his own, its a big world.....

people who bash those that are better than them are just pitiful wannabes. Molly |

I feed regular dog food as well. I worked a semester doing research for a dog food company for school credit. Basically, the only reason people see any sort of improvement, real or imagined, is the raw fat. It is the main energy source for a dog, and in dog food it is heated, which breaks it down, (if they are not using restaurant grease, which is recycled garbage) and the preservatives are only good for around 28 days + or - a few days. By the time most people get their commercial dog food, the fat has gone rancid, (simple sugar).
The other problem is that people are guessing about what a dog would or would not eat, and how much. Dogs on raw do not live longer because of eating raw necessarily, but because genetically they are programed to live longer.
Sorry to burst anyones bubble on this. Well, molly has a bubble that needs bursting talking like that. Most of the time I am at least joking, weather people "get" it or not.
If anyone wants to know why I go after molly and her sleeve sucking shitters, it is that above statement, and others like it. I read that I was just jealous of beagle. Good grief, the dog looked like a maggot out there running, or whatever that movement was supposed to be.
molly doesn't train her own dogs either. She might do the homework that she is told to do, but that is all. She sells her doorknobs to pay for this training.

I have had the "raw" food discussion with the wrong people on accident a few too many times. Their eyes roll back into their head as they go into religious ecstasy as they start blabbering about percentages and weight and the whole time their dog is about to pass out, because of the lack of food. Oh sure, his coat and eyes look great, but the dog starts shaking during tug work, and is about to drop. His mouth smells like carrion, and I am using their tug, as I do not want his filthy mouth on my equipment.
2 pounds of chicken is not enough for a 55 pound mal. Take away the water weight, and you are feeding 3 or 4 ounces of food. BUT HE LOOKS GREAT ! ! ! ! ! LOL
I was stuck in an uncomfortable spot, as anything I say is from the devils mouth at this point. So like I said, if someone wants to do all that, then cool. I am going to feed the dang dogs out of a bag. Well, trash can. Fits more bags and is out of the way. Now if I could just remember that there is dog food in there.

I will probably name, register and micro-chip all of Virgo's pups, along with having them DNA'ed,
before they go to their new homes, that will be a test to see how organized I am
Thanks for all the replies to this posting,
Paula
