So pleased that the day went as it did - everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves with the various activities, and I will leave Shirley to do the honours list of helpers, from what I could see they were vast !!!    Eeryone took a hand at doing a bit of something for some-one when needed, and poor Marina was exhausted I would think with the handling she did... many thanks to all.

There was something going on all day, I particularly enjoyed seeing the off lead gaiting being done - starting with single dogs, working up to small groups of dogs going around - and no standing around waiting for the next activity, except to eat the odd burger and hot dog, Eddie and Keith came on a 3 hr trip to donate some food and mann the bar b q for us, it was a real great get together.   I saw some wonderful puppies, really classy babies, all waiting in the wings for the next regional show no doubt.

So.  To conclude we had people do us the honour of attending from as far away as Glasghow, Devon, Plymouth and nearer, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself watching again, our new show scene unfold..... I had some weird and wonderful guesses at MissBeeb, but have to say that there was not a correct bit of paper put forward, so MissBeeb, sorry you have to attend a few more, so we can have a correct answer, it was suggested that MiddBeeb was Derek Bignall !!! asnd announced by little Sam over the microphone which caused much hilarity....  He wasnt very impressed with that one    Mo.

Thank You!
Thank You!
Thank You!

What a fabulous day we had - such a superb turn-out!

First thanks go to everyone who attended - without those who will take time out from busy lives to support events like this - there is no point! So thank you.

There was a superb atmosphere and this was in no small measure due to the phenomenal efforts made by everyone who helped out on the day - who all came along and gave up their day at their own expense - you all made the day very special.

Hugh De Zutter who carried out the breed survey for us - 6 dogs entered all gaining Class 1. Hugh also did the individual ring training with the young animals and I think he really enjoyed seeing the youngsters and chatting with their owners about their breeding etc.

Alan Wood and Dean Severns who did the protection training. This was undoubtedly the most popular feature of the day and Alan and Dean worked really hard for at least 5 hours - those who know helper work or watched the guys in action yesterday will know just how physically demanding it is! Alan spent time with each dog brought to him depending on their level of experience and I believe everyone who had a go was very pleased with what they acheived. Alan was very impressed with many of the dogs he saw - especially Helen and Dennis' two babies!

Eddie Stephenson and Keith Williamson for their superb barbecue - absolutely faultless! I wish that I had found time to stop and eat but I am told that the food was excellent!

Mum and Helen Hepple for measuring and 3Ts for at least two hours! Each dog getting time to get used to an activity which is all too often rushed at shows and the dog criticised if they look unsure! Mum also micro-chipped a few canine attendees!

Nikki Farley for taking over the ring training when Hugh moved on to surveys.

Paul Bradley for helping out with the off lead gaiting - Paul and I had different opinions on how to do this but we tried out several methods and after a slow start the exercise took off and was successful with the participants going away knowing what and how to practise!

Claire Wilson for offering to take photos at the last minute - really looking forward to seeing them! Will hoefully get a write up done for the National Magazine and put some of the photos in too.

Zep Zizzi for being in charge of gun testing and providing the hides.

Katy Pearson for being gopher!

Sam Hutchinson for megaphone announcements and raffle ticket selling!

GSD League for their support and banners!

Carole Lister for raffle prizes.

The many handlers who helped out - as Mum says especially Marina Jane Julian who worked her socks off but also to everyone else who was prepared to give a hand to those who needed it. We could still have done with a few more handlers but I don't think anyone was left unable to train for lack of help!

Chris Hutchinson - unbelievably supportive - my "not doggy" husband who not only put up with my obsession with GSDs but also gives 100% effort to these events and makes sure that the ground and facilties are A1 - he was working until gone 9pm tonight taking down the rings and gazebos.

I hope that I haven't forgotten anybody - if I have then it is not intentional it is down to a long weekend making me very tired!

Cheers, Shirley
