Congratulations again!  That's a beautiful litter, and sorry about the last 2.  Great name choices also!

How are your puppies, dadams1?

Here is a new photo. I had to lighten it up a lot so you could see individual puppies instead of just one big blur. Bella isn't really that light, just tan, not red either. Anyway, she seems to be liking it. The other photo is HER mother, who is constantly on guard outside the dog room. Not to worry, there's a puppy pen blocking Ally from getting too close.

AWWWWW Grandma wants to go see her grand babies, She looks like she is trying to get her nose inside to smell the baby breath better.

I have one weird puppy, always whining 24/7. I have a feeling she was too dumb to figure out the nursing thing...on her second day of life, I put her on a nipple, noticing that she weighed about as much as a Kleenex even though she is a good size. She went crazy. First peace I'd had since they were born. She is much quieter and heavier now, but occasionally I have to re-explain it to her. I know I shouldn't be helping a deficient puppy to survive, but I saw something starve to death once and I have to say, THAT will never happen around me again. Horrifying. Well, we'll see what happens. Even my little teeny one is doing well--all are, except this one big sable female dingbat. Going to a pet home on a spay contract for sure.

Your litter looks great, and that is one happy momma!  I'm having the same issue taking photos, they're all so dark it's hard to distinguish them from Carmen when she's nursing!  All of the pups are doing great, growing by leaps and bounds.  They're 9 days old today, and weighed in just around 3 lbs each last night.  I can't wait to see some eyes opening soon!

Here are a couple recent pictures: I did want to get your opinion on the coloring of them.  They're all showing a little brown, so I assume they'll have similar coloring to the sire since none are bi-colors like Carmen (I've just been calling them sables).  I've had several people ask if they'll be "dark sables" or "black sables", etc., and to be honest I've not raised pups with this coloring before (just bi-colors or black & tans) so I wanted to get some outside opinions on what color you think they'll turn out to have.  Any thoughts?

Your puppies look HUGE already!
They look like dark sables to me. Don't tell anybody they are black sables so nobody buys them just for color!

Yep they are getting huge! Since there are only four pups they practically have a 24x7 buffet of teats to choose from and they take advantage of it. They tend to average between 60 & 100 grams of weight gain per day, though one porky male actually gained 124g in a day once!

Ding-bat!!! OMG! Too funny....couldn't you let that one pup have a "D" name???? They look wonderful!

And Dadams1....oh that little smooched up face! Adorable!

Yeah, sorry if the translation got botched on that one....I had about 6 different sources for names & translations...I remember 1 of them was 'slender'.....I probably screwed up! My Irish grandmother(who was married to the Welsh grandfather) is rolling in her grave, I'm sure!! SORRY! No disrespect intended! I think the names you picked are awesome!
