This was 4 days before she had the litter. Jackie she actually had 12 but we lost one....so she had 11 and did very well. This was her first litter. She was an awesome first time mom!!

I hope that Bella whelps easily for you and all the pups do well. This is going to be a very nice litter for you.

A litter of 5 or 6 is a good size. I've had litters of 11, 12 and 13, respectively. I don't want that many ever again. It kicked my ass, so many puppies.

I hope she does have one more to fill your orders! :-)

Poor little Annie! But all her pups did well.

I'm very very excited about the litter. I've waited a long time for a puppy to "replace" Ally. She still likes to do Schutzhund but she turned 7 yesterday. I was kind of hoping the puppies would get born on Grandma's B-Day, but it didn't happen.

So far Bella's temp hasn't dropped, either, but Ally's never did, nor did she stop eating (until she was stuffed to the gills with afterbirth!). Makes it hard to figure out when they are going to go into labor. I stayed home sick today--just a little sick but really this impending birth makes it hard to go to work at all!

LOL using the dog to ditch work. Love it!

by VomMarischal on 10 March 2010 - 22:03

Here we go! Neither temp nor appetite went down, same as her mom, but there's a long mucous-y string hanging out of her...good thing I cut work, 4pack!
