I thought that there was a new club forming in WV(?)   It is listed on the USA site at any rate, and I guess I just assumed that you were part of that.   That's what I get for assuming!

I am hoping that the membership will support a bylaw amendment permitting a club affiliated with another schutzhund organization and that has already been in existence for a number of years, hosting trials, including  regional and national events, a more stream-lined process for full membership.   Ditto with a club comprised entirely of members brancing off from a long-established club, as such groups also can effectively and legitimately claim experience in hosting trials, including major trials.

palerider

I think you need check the born on date on your Pabst.  The aluminum must have contaminated your beer and is now reacting adversly with the steel plate in your head.  kiinda like a battery short circuting your neurons.  Perhaps try switching to bottles

Nia, there IS a new club that has formed in WV, the Mountaineer SchH Club in Fairmont, WV, but I am not a member of that club.  BTW, I believe they had a successful affiliation trial last month and are now Full Member status.

I drive a wee bit further, but it's worth it.  I love to be with good people.  These folks in PA are some of the same dog friends that I've been training with since I moved here 5 years ago.

Eventually I'd like to get a training group started in my own backyard, so to speak, but... one step at a time!

BTW... Jeff, I love your "comeback" to the new troll's asinine post.  I love your wit when you deal with the witless!

thanks for all of your advice guys. fortunately i live in southern california and am within an hour of several different clubs, so I'll be checking them out soon.

@palerider... dogs instinctively bite just as you instinctively suck & swallow.  The sport is not about creating a monster, if you researched the sport you would find tons of animal lovers and nothing close to a mike vick situation.  Secondly, as a veteran of iraq and the Marines I do not need an animal to protect me; I have socks that have seen more combat time than you so you wont find me trembling at the end of a leash.  Although you are drastically searching for attention I'm pretty sure everyone here is done with you so dont expect any additional replies from me.

packen!

Way to go, noob!  I was worried that you might be put off from the sport by some random idiot posting smack.  Believe me this "palerider" doofus is NOT representative of the either the maturity or the mentality of folks in our sport.

I am encouraged that you live in So Cal because there are some good clubs there.  In particular, I would recommend a visit to Somis SchH Club if you are sufficiently near.  My friend Kathy Moacanin trains there and they have some very good folks, knowledgeable about dogs and eager to grow the sport.

I'm going to have to remember your line... "dogs instinctively bite just as you instinctively suck & swallow".  Priceless!
