ok, fine, you guys are splitting hairs now. Showline sables, that ARE in fact sables, but look just like same old shiowlines to me, but are sables.

Ok, fine, you could very well be right. What I am saying there is no sable showlines that LOOK like workingline sables. Fair?

All those above pictures look like red and black to me, maybe not in the usual way - all those showlines all look the same to me, these are a hair different I give you that.

Oso,

Amazing how he kept changing colors till he gained his present pattern and colors, thanks for sharing.

Adi,

In that I agree with you to a valuable extent, as silbersee said they are no more working lines (removed, more than 5 generations ago).

Adi Ibrahimbegovic,
they might all look the same to you because they have a saddle pattern, since that is one of the most present genes in showlines but if you read my post, I mentioned (and linked to photos) Timo Berrekasten and more prounouncedly his daughter Uganda vom Lippesteg. So, there is the occasional showline sable that resembles one of the workinglines.

Chris, I am so glad you joined this thread!, I was hoping you would, and obviously I posted my last message before yours had appeared, we crossed.

Ibrahim - yes that is one thing about sables they do keep changing their colours, and continue to get darker up to about 3 years there is an article on the Von Arlett web page about sables with photos that illustrate this nicely too.

Adi, no one is saying that these are or look like working line dogs, but the thread was about show line sables and that is what these are, the little Fichtenschlag puppy in the ad will be similar.

Hey Robin,
Happy New Year to you!
I have newborn sables at home, born yesterday - but not showlines! They are out of my black girl Olympia and a Czech male, both V-rated of course.
My last showline sable pup was Silas, Carlos handled him. And that was in November 2008, sigh. For some reason, Gina has not had a decent heat cycle since then. I keep telling all the people who inquire that she will be bred soon, but I am beginning to wonder about her.
And Penny and Venja are young. They just turned 2 years old in November. They are hibernating in Germany this season.

Oso,
thanks. You know I just love your dogs! Happy New Year to you as well.

Yes, thats a nice puppy.   I am based in Ecuador and here a few breeders do have showline sables, the proportion of sables competing here is small, but probably higher than in Germany and the US (relative to the total number of dogs total who compete).  I checked just now, and as far as I can tell, as per the info in SiIbersee's post, all of them here descend either from Timo or Era Weinerau.  If anyone is interested I can let you know when I have sable puppies available. Our dogs are titled and have official SV hip certification, ED is a requisite for dogs born 2009 onwards. But to be titled they do not have to get schutzhund, but  a more basic obedience and defense test , they can also be breed surveyed at 18 months (in case anyone was wondering about my dog).  Schutzhund may be a requirement in the near future  and my young male is working towards this now, of course it might be slow as everyone here lacks experience..

Chris,
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I'm gonna wait a while longer for you!!!.........as soon as those "young" females are being bred......please inform me.
I'm sure that you "know" what I'm looking for structurally.......and I trust your instincts for temperament.......
We'll just wait and see..........
Best of luck for you in 2010!
