I agree absolutely with Paulie's earlier post.  It is ever increasingly obvious with every day that passes that the KC do not want you!!!  The time has come, as David Payne says, to take the gloves off.  The way forward now is to get together and unite by finding a strong leader to take you forward.  Get fund raising and get as much as you can to launch the new club that the breed and yourselves deserve.  Once sufficient funding is in place then implement the plan for the new club with the assistance and blessing of the WUSV.   Take the pain of not showing until the time you are ready to go forward with a new system, donate what would be entry fees to the fighting fund.  Organise your publicity to bring bring on board the public, media, veterinary advisers.   Get professional and stop trying to go forward on pure emotion.   Enthusiasm  is what is needed -  find it!!

As for Crufts, I have boycotted the show as an exhibitor, handler, or day tripper, since the time Len Pagliero judged the breed and people by the hundred signed a petition about the judging.  That was the beginning of the problems with the KC.

Carole, what I said Is that I would not be putting money direct into KC coffers by entering Crufts. When you enter a Breed show your money goes into the Breed Clubs coffers, not the KC;s, but entering Crufts puts your entry money directly into the Kennel Clubs OWN SHOW and therefore the KC;s own bank account.

However, what I also said is that I would expect any Breed Club which has signed the KC Undertaking to take signing it  seriously and for the Clubs committee to fully accept their signing of the Undertaking by full compliance to the demands within the Undertaking. That the Club will fully adhere to the KC's ruling of No Double Handling and enforce the KC;s Escalation Proceedure WITHIN EVERY LETTER OF ITS RULES.   I like you Carole, will expect each class to be judged in total silence, without ANY double handling being allowed by ANYBODY and that each club will educate its judges and the Club will report ANY JUDGE promoting an unsound animal to the KC within 7 days. Remember, the KC expect Clubs to EDUCATE their judges, so any judge not already a qualified Championship Show judge would have to have been EDUCATED by the Club prior to Judging, that is also part of the Undertaking.

Hey Wales just a thought, has your Judge this month undergone your Education Classes to judge our Breed??? NO!! Oooops!!

thanks sue for the clarification.you,ll have to ecuse me as the brain doesnt go into gear quite so quick these days...OLD AGE.didnt think open shows where to the same ruling.i was under the impression that yu could still have open shows BUT NOT CHAMP SHOWS if yu didnt sign the undertaking.am i wrong?nice state of affairs isnt it.i hope these clubs are ready this year for the onslaught as i was standing next to these two persons who were taking notes.i got the impression from wot he said after the dog judging that he didnt think soundness was that bad...10 per cent but the lady disagreed.she didnt say wot percentage she thought was unsound but she said she,d seen a lot more,so even their officials dont agree.wot a complete balls up.maybe thats why they said wot they did on saturday.wot ever it was a disgrace.Carolesorry that should read unsoundness, sorry  again.

I said I wasn't going to go off topic..but here goes. I don't know what Gary was doing with the tails at WELKS, to be honest I don't remember him doing anything, of course that doesn't mean he didn't! I do remember Freddie Christian measuring tails somewhere though..could have been the two day in 97, but I'm nor sure on that.
In defense of Gary's judging I will also post a recent picture of my own dog, Blanik Excentrik,(yes out of coat), he is the grandson of my lovely Blanik Alliance
I also found this photo of his CC winner at WELKS in 2008, a dog of all German breeding who has won under visiting judges and was award his 1st rcc from Junior at Norfolk GSD under Herr. Albrect Worner

Yes, you're right about Freddie, it was at the South Western GSD Ch show (can't remember the year) Jane Swan was the dog judge & I had the pleasure of being her 2nd (to Sammy Hunter) steward.  Of course that was when the Sth Western was a GSD Club not an Alsatianist effort.

Could you post a picture of the bitch Gary gave the ticket to?  Bilnetts something or other, I believe.

As far as I am aware as a member of the Cornish branch of BAGSD we DID NOT sign the KC by a 100% majority.

Will, your branch may not have voted to sign but I believe the organisation as a whole has signed

by Penny on 14 March 2010 - 20:03

Will H

As many branches as possible must write to the BAGSD EC committee and ask that the branch votes be put up on their website.  As I said in an earlier posting - it need not be name for name, in fact, it should not be, but the name of the branch and how many voted for or against is the only way to do this.   Derbyshire will write and request this.

sorry but i too am going to go off topic.Misbeeb,Gary,s bitch ticket winner was Fayrelander Polly Flinders, reserve was the Bilnett bitch.all i can say is that Gary will put up an animal that is not his preference if that animal IS SOUNDER than the german ones.i haven,t been under Gary but i won the bitch ticket last year under his wife Gill.now my bitch has won under all types of judges...continental,germans,germanic judges from the uk,and all rounders.if yu have the breed council books,i think its 2005 my bitch is in there.....her name is RHEINMEISTER CHI-KI-MI.she also won the ticket at crufts 2007 under Eric Broadhurst.i would enter under Gary Gray.Carole Spelman

The more I think about the comments made on national TV the more angry I get. The fact that they singled out the GSD with theIr unfair and incorrect comment's is disgraceful. What about the poor dogs that have real health issues eg. the cavalier king charles spaniels breed with heads to small for there brains to form correctly.  We MUST stand together against the KC and their bully boy tactics.... there only concern is money!  Only recently i had a call from a lady asking my advice as she has put a £50 deposit down on a GSD puppy who was the outcome of a brother and sister mating (a mistake i would hope), obviously i recommended she think very carefully as any faults would be doubled up with this mating and their could be serious health issues with the pups, this lady told me she had phoned the kennel club asking the same question and that they had said "it was fine, and they could still be registered with them" what is that all about if its not money!!!

We are not looking to compete with the English Alsation ( Corgis with slightly longer legs!) as we have developed in to a breed in our own right. We look to Germany and the SV to set our standards and inspire the more progressive breeders of the GSD in the UK. These standards are set high with every breeding German Shepherd having to pass a number of health checks  including HD & ED scoring and DNA testing.

Is there another organisation  were we could register our litter's or do we need to develop one ?
