But you don't have a clue what the guy really was doing.

Glad your daughter wasn't drug into traffic.

Awesome story and even more awesome dog !!!!!!!!!! Say you said gilberts. Is that gilberts IL ? I live in richmond IL. This is the exact reason my hubby and I got our GSD. He works 3rd shift and we live 1/4 mile off the road and I am home alone so she is my security while he is at work.  I do feel much safer now that I have her. I hope they catch that guy before he does do something completely stupid.

Thank god for dogs like nala........ :D

Moons, I would venture to say the guy was up to no good.  This is a dog who is not normally aggressive and she knew something wasn't right.

Hmmmm....sounds suspicious to me.  No, we don't know what he was up to but he stops in the "middle" of the road... doesn't say anything...just keeps advancing on a child and dog???  I think the dog read him right.  He could not have been up to any good.  A grown man needing directions or info would not approach a child and would not park in the middle of the road normally.  I'm just sayin'.....GOOD DOG!

Good Dog, I never had to worry while any of the dogs were with my daughter.
Always,

Good girl, Nala! Sorry, strange man approaching young girl??....the dog read it right, & the police seemed to think so, too. And the fact that she put her paws on the nurses means that she knew they were trying to help, but she didn't think they should be doing stuff to your son. Trach care is uncomfortable, as you know, & she just understood that the nurses were making your son uncomfortable, that's all. And she doesn't want anyone making her boy uncomfortable, or her girl either. If the little girl was nervous about that guy, that's all Nala needed to know. & she would know that right away, because as your daughter's body began to experience an adrenaline surge, Nala could smell it, & it was like a command to her to protect. She would do it for her whelp, & your little girl is like her pup, she will, & did, protect her! Good girl, Nala! jackie harris

I'll play Devils Advocate and suggest the dog might have had the same reaction to a child and that the girl could have been drug into harms way or worst.
I question the proper supervision of both dog and child and wonder about training of the dog itself.

I know Beverly received much support from many board members and people care.
So.... care about this too.
Make sense of it.
