When you read some of the appalling drivel on PDB, it's incomprehensible that GOOD & INTERESTING information is zapped whilst the crapola remains!  Get a new, reasonable and knowledgeable Mod, Oli.

PDB has long since become ridiculous, even more so since those who know very little about the breed but apparently much about the KC have chosen to regulary frequent the messageboard. So much so that it makes one wonder exactly what type of breed expertise this moderator possesses, since he/she appears incapable of assessing the difference between a Videx advert and the very helpful, informative links Videx posts on this messageboard for the benefit of all.

David (Videx) was right, ONLY the removal of anonymous numpties from this database would improve it, meanwhile the masses continue to stay away.

Maywood was also correct by saying this database is used as a One Stop Shop for your GSD Information needs, which (since the lunatics took over the asylum) is all many of us only use it for now.

Regards
Sue b

Moderator edit: The original link I deleted was a dead end link. I took it down cause I could not check to see what it went too.

Moderator: For your information, whoever you are, I always check my LINKS when placed on this site. I took several minutes to correct the LINK immediately after posting it. You jumped straight in and reacted negatively. be assured there will be no more posts by me with LINKS that you will be able to delete. I am pleased to reduce even further the appeal of pedigreedatabase.

You may cancel my membership if you wish, all I ask is for you to delete everything possible on this site connected to Videx GSD, I willingly leave the asylum in the hands of the lunatics, or as Sue b puts it so very well, in the hands of the anonymous numpties. Many obviously wish to become a someone, now they have a very appropriate title. Anonymous Numpty. ha ha ha, so very appropriate.

Moderator edit: Videx sorry you feel that way. I came across your link, it did not work I removed it. On the grounds I could not verify it. I offer my sincere apology to you.

Videx,  I appreciate all the links you have posted.  keep it up.  I am always pleased when I see one of your threads because I know you are in essence trying to promote the GSD.  Thanks.  IKeep up the good work.   ecs

Ditto ecs.

Videx, forget the nonsense.  It is below you.  You have many fans here who look forward to hearing your point of view.  This  PDB mod has no clue what they are doing so just know its not you.  Don't let their stupidity get to you and try to rise above it if you can.  As KCzaja noted earlier, your Sieger show impressions are legendary and I hope you continue to share them with the rest us, as well as your point of views.

moderator: apologies accepted, thank you ecs and maywood and others. ecs you hit the nail on the head. with my links, I simply wish to help promote the GSD. I have no need whatsoever to promote my website, its been around since 1997.

To be held in Braunschweig, situated in Northern Germany, some 40 miles (60 km east of Hannover, this is the second time the Sieger Show has been held here. Braunschweig is a recently modernized city with a very attractive layout and old town.
Braunschweig, the city of Henry the Lion, is the biggest city in the south-eastern part of Lower Saxony. It is characterised by an appealing and exciting blend of the past and the present, tradition and the future.
There may be some difficulty with available hotel accommodation, with many visitors having to stay in hotels some distance from the venue. Some out of choice, to exercise and accommodate their dogs in a rural surrounding, others because most 3 and 4 star hotels within Braunschweig are fully booked already.
The Braunschweig Sieger Show 2011 will be held in the Eintracht-Stadion, a superb venue for this hugely popular World Sieger Event. I fully appreciate the difficulties the SV have in finding suitable venues each year, and the tremendous organisation that goes into the planning and staging of this enormous event. We should all appreciate and thank everybody involved who work so hard to put this fabulous event on for us, year on year. Long may it continue, and long may we enjoy continuous improvements in all aspects of this vitally important event for the GSD.
At the last Sieger Show held here in 2007 the rings for the two Junior (12 to 18 months) classes (male & female) and the two Yearling classes (18 to 24 months) classes (male & female) were a short and pleasant walk from the main stadium, spacious well sized rings, with valuable access around all sides, which is of huge benefit to spectators and the numerous double handlers. It was also notable how improved the facilities were for double handling, a very important part of exhibiting and presenting the German Shepherd Dog to its best advantage.
Inside the main stadium the seating was closer to the dogs than the usual stadiums at other Sieger Show venues. This considerably improved the experience for the spectators, and reduced the need for binoculars. It also offered some wonderful vantage points around the stadium to see all the famous dogs and their progeny, and the first 20 of the younger classes when they were paraded in the main stadium around noon on the Sunday. This was hugely appreciated by the spectators and exhibitors, many leaving the show feeling they had gained more from this show, than many previous Sieger Shows. I am delighted the SV now plans to hold this event again in Braunschweig in 2011; in my opinion this venue is only second in overall quality to Ulm, my favourite venue.
The Sieger Show at this venue in 2007 held a variety of facilities for various foods and drinks, Bratwurst, western steaks (marinated pork steaks) especially, and copious supplies of fabulous German beer, all of which was certainly enjoyed by many Brits. Many stalls selling a variety of dog-related products were located around the stadium. I expect it will be similar in 2011.

For the Moderator: Since it is apparent that there is a 'concern' on their (moderator) part to step in when links are published in order to advertize - of course it is well within their right in order to protect their commercial interests.

However, for all of us who know David Payne and his on-going efforts to inform (the un-informed/ill-informed), and act in everyway possible in the best interests of the GSD and the TRUE followers and breeders of the breed; we know that his posts have never had a 'back-door' intent on getting a plug and/or 'hit' enhansing agenda for his (well visited site) which is hardly a 'dogs for sale' medium.

We should be thankful that people like David Payne take the time and punch words into this site, and words that are damn more constructive then 90% of the slagging competitions and gossip threads which have absolutely no substance and give nothing to the ones who have a genuine interest to learn or indeed be informed of new developments in the breed.

In closing; perhaps the moderator should take a closer look at the amount of misleading adverts that are placed here and thus protecting some of the genuine people who visit.

Moderator: One more thing; It is of no secret that many pedigrees and photos have been (used) by corrupt members who willingly FORGE pedigrees of dogs that do not belong in the pedigree of the dog they have published...This is a much more important ISSUE since this (pedigree database) - as the name suggests is meant to be a site where CORRECT information about dogs can be viewed.

How about applying your knowledge and effort into 'policeing' and irradicating such activities which put this site in to dissrepute...or if not give the option to the genuine members to remove their own dogs (be it photo or pedigree data) from such false 'uploads'.
