Lief,
Where did you go?

You have started a thread, and just sort of disapeared.

If you are a professional dog trainer or is it more of a hobby?

Do you board dogs as well to train.  Train them for theowner type thing?

Have you considered making training DVDs to sell?

Kind of like Leerburg

I am sure that one person is born every minute that would buy one of those

I am a bit puzzled by the use of "Dog Aggressive" here. I saw nothing but a very interested GSD puppy, trying to engage in play. That buzzer made me want to scream. And by the time the training lessons are over....The Puppy is a mess. Gee I wonder why....I don't think you are supposed to shock a dog for acting like a dog.......That puppy doesn't have a chance.....to much going on....and the training in my opinion is Over Kill!!! But I think that woman should have to wear that collar around her neck or leg....and get shocked every time she has a "human thought/behavior". The only thing that puppy was learning was to "screw recall"...and after a loud annoying voice comes a buz and a shock!!!!! JMO

The US goverment could really use those techniques for interigation.

I know that I would spill the beans after about one minute thirty seconds.

Far worse than water boarding

Never mind...

That would be just too inhumane

Sad part is that she is probably too invested in her training techniques (if you will) to admit or see or understand the crulity.

Even bad training is effective to an extent.

It may look as if she is getting free advertising, but not all advertising is the good sort,
Should any prosctive customer read this thread then they would not entertain her as a Dog Trainer gut run the other way, If they did then they are as bad as she is regards dog training,
However it is not the people who own the dogs who have to take the brunt of the training.
Best let the thread die, it is very nearly to late for .little Rambo and nothing will change the ingnorance of some so called dog handlers who need to be trained themselves before they start to train dogs

Steve1:  I agree with you 100% about this not being the kind of ad that will result in bring customers to her looking for a trainer.......but on the other hand  - if someone's in the market  for a dominatrix.........

i decide to look at this video as if it WAS a valid training vid.  Just because the method was bizarre at best.

1.  What is she trying to accomplish?  A puppy that has an excellent recall.  Observation: Trainer zapped dog BEFORE even asking for the recall.  The more she zapped the more he refused to listen

2.  What is she trying to accomplish?  Correcting a "dog aggressive" puppy.  Observation:  Not a dog aggressive pup, she should have let the lab beat the crap out of him.  The more she zapped the more frustrated he was becoming.  In the end he was flat .

So as a trainer you try to mold a behavior.  The pup was confused, didnt have a clue what she wanted and was becoming frustrated not being allowed to play.

Why would you introduce distractions before a pup understood the command?
Why did she want to break his natural drive?
Why didnt the puppy come flying for a treat and a pet?
Those are the questions i came away with.  Sad for the pup at this stage he appears to be a confident happy lil thing, give him a couple months.  Frustration and poor training in a confident male can be a very very bad combo.

A simple answer to your questions, She did not have a clue of what she was doing
