Don Corleone

Just to add to these CRAZY, INSANE distractions, do you honestly think it makes it harder for the dog? Any dog with good nerve that has been trained, will not even flinch. Seriously? Do you really believe these are new to the dog?

Nope! In SchH, if you want an uneven playing field, you have to slash someone's tire's, drive on their tracks, or have a late night tracking field jamboree. Me? I prefer to just sleep with the female competitors. Throws their dogs off on the heeling the next day. Remember, dogs read body language. ;)

The dogs that flinched at the Nationals at the "old" accessories all got better scores than I did. : )  I guess you should try Mondio and see what you can do before telling us about distractions and good nerve making for a dog that bulls right through.

At some point the difference between a "club" trial and everything else was made so that less than average dogs could pass the 3. I know Mondio has started that crap, and I think it is BS.

I understand that not everyone has the time or money, or the luck to get a real nice dog right off the bat, so you train the dog you have. What made me so bitter is that dogs that do not deserve the title now get it. All you have left is "the higher level". Are people really so insecure that if their dog doesn't make it that they will just quit ? It is not about the dog for me, it about the sport. If Buko and I can never get it all together, then so be it. I have Esko to train, and I have learned many things that I will do differently this time. If I fail to get Esko to the three, then there will be another, and I will have learned what I did wrong that time, and maybe this dog will get to where I want him to be.

For some reason, the bar keeps being lowered in dogsports. I see Kaoboy's point about ego being a factor. It is very clear that many peoples dogs represent a large portion of their ego. I see that in pet people as well. It is disgusting.

If KellyJ who has little experience sees videos of sporting dogs getting Sch titles, then what else is she to think ?? : )

Don hilarious love it great comment!! Agree, agree, agree this is all true in life and in dog sport, the kids who take last in a baseball tournament still get trophies, I say f@#$ that you want a trophy work harder!!! Everyone in Schutzhund sees someone get a title that doesn't deserve one just yet, I myself would not allow that to happen. My goal in schutzhund is to fix this issue by becoming a judge. Does anyone know who the youngest judge was or is? I know that this is a far far way away, but right now, I just want to compete to win. A SchH lll is a lll but a lll at nationals is a three to be proud of especially if you get good scores and win!!!

Unless u have large sums of money to contribute to the sv like the showline people have, u arent goin to change anything. And the fact is 70/70/70 is enough to get a title. No one should feel good about those scores, and above all club trials are for fun. Club trials are never competitive. Judges grade harder at higher lvls. A dog who has earned V rating at a club lvl is not very telling.a dog who has earned V rating at worlds is very telling. So someone like molly hasnt shown any good dogs really.

Lovely when you can hide behind a fake name.

Jeff I think the following that you said is so right on it bears repeating:
----------------------------------------------------------------------

"I understand that not everyone has the time or money, or the luck to get a real nice dog right off the bat, so you train the dog you have. What made me so bitter is that dogs that do not deserve the title now get it. All you have left is "the higher level". Now I understand what you and Kaoboy are saying about ego, there is this growing segment of the population in dog sports, I think it's cultivated by the powers that be because the organizations do need money to exist, maybe it's a necessary evil, I really don't know.  It's like they need money so they lower the standards and accept people who don't have the where-with-all or the drive to stick it out, but in doing so, in lowering the bar because otherwise the human shitters would leave if they didn't get their ego stroked by being  handed a title, they ultimately are doing a grave disservice to the sport.

Making it easy so human shitters won't quit is very bad news and kind of stinks for the rest of us who put our nose to the grindstone no matter what.

FYI....might be a good idea to check any dogs you have registered here, Jeff. Molly, too. Millakilla, whoever this pathetic freak is, really f'd up Capri's info. Labeled her severely dysplastic, took out her titles, breed survey, the works.
