Looks like Kathleen has another winner - her girl won her class again this year!  Congratulations Kathleen!

My vet told me to stay at home.......She counted a huge litter just waiting to come out..........DARN!

I still may drive up for a day.....(vet's on call and hubby can watch)... I really want to see a few male working dogs to see who i might want to breed with Honey F.

Room for 6 VA males in the class. Looks like 3 males with a group, Odin, Bobo, and Utah. Those should be your top 3 VA in any order based on production. Returning VA male Quartz. He should retain VA if shown. That leaves room for two new VA.

Which two? I say you have to put Camillo VA. Just too much there not to notice unless he's not shown correctly.

Who else?

Thank you for your support of Camillo at the Sieger show. He has done very well so far this weekend and many have commented that he was the best dog in the protection routine. He looked very good for the stand today again with very good comments from the judge and other participants. We are hoping for a good placing tomorrow. I hope your prediction is right "Dog1" He is in great coat and has been presented very well so ..........It is in the hands of the judge now.  

I think Quartz has a good chance to be top dog. He's a veteran VA dog and his progeny in the past has looked super. Looking through this year's puppy results... MANY from his kennel are top in their classes.  Not that the new comer's don't have a chance, but this is just what I see... not being there....

I thought you would be there. I'm posting predictions from home too. I see Quartz' age and the absence of a progeny group hurting him. As a previous VA, he should have one which is why the previous VA males that have one have to be top 3. The race is for the remaining 3 places.

It's interesting to see how the class is split between a group of contenders with groups that are US born and bred for the most part and imports that have done well at the world level. Which dog should be VA? A dog where the breeder has presented a group to show what it can produce or a highly placed male from the German sieger show?

The US must continue to reward those that participate in the system modeled after the SV system. There's no other way. This leaves little room for the up and coming. The #1 dog in the world could be squelched out of the VA group by dogs that have not as many accomplishments, but have followed the system. Breeders will need to look beyond the VA group and see what else is really good to breed with in the V ratings. Breeders with the imports will need to put together a group to penetrate the VA.

I agree with your opinion Dog 1 that we need to have a system by which proven producers are rewarded based on that production. And we also need a system that does not bend rules or ignores poor performance to place a dog at the top. But even in Germany the system it is not followed completely. This is from memory so don't hold me to exact age,  but just in the last couple years they have place males as VA .....Remo 27 months, Paul 28months, Bojan 34 months, Shicco 35 months and Gigolo 36 months all of which were too young to have progeny groups. We did not bring Camillo thinking he would get a VA rating knowing he was too young to have a progeny group and he has only been here a few months so that would make it difficult as well. But he is showing well here and his character and protection work is strong. Like I said earlier the judge will have the final say wish our boy luck and what ever his placing we only hope he can contribute positively to the breed. The working males are about to begin.

Does anyone have results from the 18-24mo classes from yesterday....or the working class females from today yet?
I'm kinda surprised that very little *conversation or interest* is being posted in regards to the show......much, much less than previous years....
