hank, nice post and you are exactly right on target.
web try and breed to the lines that produce the fearless and hard dogs.
haven't had one sent back yet.
bred my hardest bitch to a multi titled dog in sport 2 x wusv, national champion x2 and guess what. the breeding was the worst i have ever had out of this bitch. titles mean nothing and i mean nothing when it comes to hard assed working dogs.sch dogs yes, police dogs not really.
jeff, as black jack got a littlr older right befor i sold him. he got a piece of me , my brothers and a pro sch trainer that camee to look at my dogs. he was a hard dog that rerquired the right handler and he demanded respect. the bite on me was really a mistake. the sch trainer jerled the leash and bj bit him on the hand thet jerked the leash. he called back after and wanted to buy him. he was alredy sold.
jeff thanks for rooting for me ......TO GRT BIT  LOL

I like a dog like that, and I am going to root for the dog, as really, the dog represents your work, and thought process. So....... really, I was on your side.

Jeff, You know what's funny, that rarely I learn anything from you, other than drama and cursing and blah blah blah. Other people who don't pretend to be the alfa and omega actually have some good advice to offer, and yes its FREE!!!! Cause not only experts visit this forum and regular people like me don't need to earn the right to express themselves simply because you think good information should be paid for...(figuratively speaking) by sharing my point of view. If I don't comment on the subject its because I don't have any constructive or enriching to contribute with. Not the kind of person that writes stupid and senseless lines just to give the Impression its actively participating. You know what they say; if you don't have anything mildly intelligent to say better remain silent. Now, I know I'm not the only person who think this way about people that deviate threads ( which is in fact what I'm doing right now, and for that I apologize to the op) I just felt the necessity to call you out because in every single thread that I read in this great forum, at some point, you and couple others start throwing s**t into the air, picking fights, challenging each other, etc etc etc. I don't need to grow up, I speak my mind, you in the other hand can't take criticism without having to write an essay (above) to feel better about yourself. Anyway, my only regret its that I sated that would not comment any further on the matter, but I felt for it, and for that I apologize again to the op. Won't happen again.

Well Martin, it is because you cannot read past the cursing. I knew an old woman once that was like you. Her need to control was so bad that if you used a curse word, she could not hear anything else said after that.

She would ask us about training, and we would use a curse word in the first sentence in a long drawn out explanation just to fuck with her. People with minds like that should not breed. Nerve problems. Inability to adapt to change. We would get her so fired up veins would start to pop out of her forehead.

I read everything you wrote, and I am glad that you do not contribute very often. Your "call out" was awesome. HA HA You need to apologize to everyone for being you, you intolerant goof.

I guess we can say titles is a bit of a two-edged sword, it´s a way to test the breedingstock but it could also work against us if breeders and also puppybuyers are mainly intressted in puppies from wellknown competitiondogs when other dogs may be equally good or better for breeding. In the end a breeder doeesn´t get better dogs for his goal than what his experience and personal standard let him have I suppose.

Haven´t the new GSD-club in germany, RSV 2000, added some form of charactertest besides a SCH-title for dogs that should be breed, "talentsichtung" I think it´s called? Having some form of testingsystem besides the sporttitles may be a good way for breeders to see what they produce, but without having to spend lot´s of time to train a dog for a SCH3 or another sporttitle that takes lot´s of training and preperation.

I should probably stay out of this one but.... I see many dogs that have titles and are unworthy and produce shit, too much politics.  I have an awesome bitch that is not titled, her k9 tooth cracked and had to be extracted, I was told by people that she'd never be able to bite a sleeve again and from a business point of view she should be spayed and sold as a pet, well she can still bite and she produces well....I belive in a way that titles are somewhat unreliable in the US because of how many dogs are titled and should have failed.  So what is more important....a dog that is titled (some people are blind and assume a title means breed worthy) or a dog that is not titled, can perform any task put in front of them and is proven?  Just saying.....
