I just found this thread today, sorry you had such an ordeal! She is a very pretty girl.  I noticed you made reference several times to her being a little slow to warm up to people or not that great with strangers.  How is she doing on this?

Stunning girl, she is beautiful you can see the Mal for sure but you can see the bigger shepherd head and the more sable color shining through. Looks like drama aside it is a happy ending for puppy and human alike.

Donnerstor: she is doing much better. She at first would get real goosey and jump behind me and growl and get her hair up if anyone came within about 5 ft of us. I emailed Cindy at Leerburg and she advised me and now I follow that advice. I distract her with food or a tug and give her the time she needs to adjust and then she will slowly make contact. Then she's their best friend. I was talking to a female police officer one day while we were out on a walk and she completely ignored her and didn't even offer her the back of her hand until Shiloh was completely calm and she was fine. I wish everyone had that knowledge about animals. So many people just want to come charging up on them and go face to face and try and pet a totally strange dog. Scary!
Fenrir: thanks for telling me what traits you you see in her. I'm always wondering what is GSD and what is Mal. She had huge ears for the longest time. But her head finally grew into those ;) About three weeks ago her entire saddle was sprinkled with white and now that's about gone. Her color changes so much, but her face stays black. I think she is just so beautiful! Another fun thing she does is steal my seat when I get up. I'm thinking GSD trait?
LadyFrost: life is way too short to be stressed out and serious all the time. I have just about destroyed my health being OCD about everything. High stress job, high stress relationship :( I just choose to see things from a different perspective now and love life. No job, great husband and playing with dogs all day. Who could ask for more? Well getting my husband home from Afghanistan for starters, but he will be headed home in 30 days!
You all are so sweet, thanks for responding :)
