OK, I'll ask what many are thinking... How would he get stolen without a fight or peep? Do you think he knew the perps or was he just extremely social?

Regardless, all the best in finding him.  I really hope he gets him back.  Very nice looking dog.

Oh my God! How awful. Al, I'm so sorry. I'll certainly keep my eyes peeled and my ear to the ground since you're local.

Hex was out in the yard with Al while he was doing some chores around 5am, Al was grabbing some trash when this happened, mind you this about 6-10 acres of property along a state road. Yes Hex is a social dog when not doing protection. But I would have to imagine it would be someone he knew to be taken into a van.

I will keep an eye out and an ear to ground in the Peoria area...  I doubt Hex makes it down this way though (I'm sure Jeff and Bill will also be on the lookout).  Hopefully Al gets him back safe and sound soon.  Keep us posted!

I really hope Al's dog is returned very quickly and safely.

It is a horrible thing to lose a dog.  I would think it would be even worse to think someone stole my dog.  There are many reasons that people steal dogs.  I would say it would be easy to take 90% of the dogs out there, that includes sport dogs and even many working dogs.  Give someone a kong, ball on the rope and a person who is not afraid can take most any dog.  Please don't fool yourself into thinking it can't happen to your dog.

No shit... our department's K9 got stolen, dog with many life bites, his name was "Nasty Bill"...

the dog was recovered later...

I sure hope Al finds his dog! WTF is wrong with people? Can I naively think that  maybe the Van owners just thought the dog was a stray at 5 am?

Pack, that's what I said in the other thread. I had morons in a van try to load up 2 of my dogs who were at the edge of my acreage one morning. When I yelled and ran out there, they were like "Oh, thank goodness! We thought they were lost." Um, no. They're in my yard, thank you very much...my yard is just bigger than yours, I guess, so you thought they were stray...

I wondered that because if Al has a big yard or acreage in the country, it's entirely possible that at that hour, someone thought Hex was lost. When it happened to me, I was just in my barn, watching them, staying out of the rain.

AL:

I'm really sorry for this horrible situation.  My recommendation is that you start putting up flyers with a "No questions asked if returned safely and a $xxxxx reward."  I'll help do fundraising if you want.  Our club will contribute $200 to the reward money if you decide to do this.  I'm sure others would love to help.
