Thanks for the pics and video, Deanna. Wish I could have made it, but family time is important right now. As for placings- if you proud of yours, opinion should not matter; if you are proud of your dog, placing should not matter. If you know what you like in a dog, VA1 or V50, should not matter to you if the dog brings what you want. Of course we all have our favorites, and owners we know are deserving of success, that we root for. All this talk of this dog being undeserving and that dog having its placement bought is to me unsportsmanlike, but by the same token, no one should be offended with honest, courteous opinions. My heartfelt congratulations to everyone who is happy with their dogs' placements.

I did not have an entry in the Working Class Males,so i do not have a dog in the fight but was disappointed in the results ( please note my post on the NASS 2011 Politics) i stand by all of my previous comments and would like to share more of my observations.First 4 of the top 19 males had some affiliation to a well known broker who is very well connected to most judges who come from Germany and routinely travels with them.I realize the Judge is SUPPOSED TO JUDGE THE DOGS FOR THERE PRESENTATION THAT DAY and not on there body of work however rarely do you see such wild fluctuations in placings unless there are political considerations at play.If you look at these males who Are NOT POLITICALLY TIED to either an SV Judge nor the previously mentioned powerbroker they have NO CHANCE AT A FAIR PLACEMENT, i do understand there are many variables ( coat condition, poorly handled ) one of those variables SHOULD NOT BE IF YOU HAVE A HANDLER FROM GERMANY OR IF YOU BOUGHT YOUR DOG OR OTHER DOGS FROM THIS DOG BROKER OR ONE OF THE JUDGES OR HIS FRIENDS. I want to make clear that i respect the ability of these German handlers and acknowledge that they are very good.I understand where Carlos is coming from and respect him and believe he has integrity however i would point out V-3 for Ivan surprised me greatly for this reason if you look at his body of work and some of the males who finished behind Ivan ( VA Rocco,V-59 BSZS Yupp,V-76 BSZS Camillo, V-71 BSZS YASSO and Ollright who ALL have beaten Ivan and many others that placed higher than these males at NASS on a consistent basis ! All of these males were presented well and were in GOOD HAIR the common denominator with most of these males except the Mittelwest dogs is that they are owned by SMALL BREEDERS.VA Koni finished behind ALL OF THESE MALES UNDER SIEGER SHOW JUDGES CONSISTENTLY until this SHOW ! What is different now ? Between last May's USA Sieger Show and October's NASS THERE WAS A CHANGE IN CO OWNERSHIP - SV Judge Harold Hohmann now is listed as co-owner and of course he was in attendance and in a show of the GOOD OLD BOY NETWORK MAGICALLY VAULTED AHEAD OF ALL THESE QUALITY MALES- i will say i like Koni and his TRUE OWNER. What message does this send to ALL SMALL BREEDERS,either pay to play or bring an SV Judge or DONT BOTHER BECAUSE YOU HAVE NO CHANCE!!!!!! YES WHERE I SIT IT WAS A SAD DAY FOR WDA-SMALL BREEDERS AND THIS NOBLE BREED ! I will close by saying it is not my intention to single out any one male or his owner and if you read my post i explain all of what i seen there were exceptions made in bitework that was clear for all to see ! My hope is that by pointing out these issues SOMEONE WILL TRY TO FIND A WAY FOR EVERYONE TO HAVE A CHANCE

If the dogs finished in the same order at every show there would be little point in showing after the first show.

MARCOPOLO, I know the point you are making....I want to only comment that the VA1 dog was bought directly from his breeder by the current owner, no broker involved.

Markopolo......I respect your observations and opinions as I respect everyone's else's.
A small point that I would like to point out is.....in ALL the Sieger Shows of these recent years (including the UScA where Cuervo earned his VA title)...our dogs have been handled by members of our own Team and Carlos himself.
Ivan has placed in both Sieger Shows V-7 (being handled by Carlos and the young girl who owns him)...while the other family members double handle.
Ivan also placed SG3 at the 2009 NASS and was awarded the Highest American Bred for that class, being handled by Carlos himself.
Also to add......Ivan was shown a couple weeks back where he was moved in 1st place in the show...with the VA dog behind him, however.....when it was mentioned as such...he was moved to 2nd place.
Ivan is a very good dog, with extremely nice conformation that moves dynamic.....he however lacks the pigment that is so desired...and we have been told by many judges that this is his main fault.  *We can accept that because it is fact*.
This year... we *brought* another friends (recently imported male to the show)....so handling Ivan was not an option. The young woman who normally handles Ivan is 6mos pregnant and was not physically able to handle him herself. Since the dog we brought "did not out" on the performance test, a very nice German young man was asked to handle Ivan instead, and Carlos accepted the handling of another male for the class.
We came to this show with only a few people and only Carlos to handle.
This year we needed & are grateful for the assistance of another so Carlos can double handle his own dogs.
We were fortunate that a very nice young man from Germany accepted to assist us.
As for "politics" or favortism.....we are far from the top of the list in this matter.....quite the opposite.
We are pleased that Ivan placed V-3....he honestly should be where he finished.....dog for dog....and politics aside.
Respectfully.
R.Huerta

ETA: Ivan's small show career has been far from average.
He is owned and handled by his family against many "expensive" dogs & dogs from large kennels. He will continue to do so.....no matter where the politics place him. In over 5 yrs, we have had no help at the shows....I will not appologize for asking for assistance in this one.
Never have we *not honestly earned* our placement.....however, we have fallen victim to the opposite.
