Carlos , if you took it as a personal attack on you or Ivan please accept my apologies it WAS NOT MEANT THAT WAY - i tried to point out how much respect i have for you , your family and kennel as well as the way you do business , i believe you are a VERY HONEST BREEDER who is a credit to the GSD BREED. In pointing out the inconsistencies of past judging and i do believe without hesitation that Herr Boesl gave preferential treatment to the dogs who were handled by Germans.I notice NO ONE HAS COME FORWARD TO question my observation on the lack of stick hits given to certain dogs and i would also say SHAME ON THE FRONT HALF HELPER FOR BEING A PART OF THIS BS.As for the comment about Ivan's show record in Chicago Schutzund Verein show this year as well as Dallas both VA- Rocco and Camillo placed ahead of him and this result was by BSZS Judge Weber. Again Carlos i know you are NOT ONE TO PLAY POLITICS AND HAVE BEEN HURT BY THEM AS MOST HAVE.With the respect you have earned over the years you have the ability to make a difference so stand up and CALL IT LIKE IT IS THE NASS 2011 was quiet possibly the worst politics and it will ruin this sport.

MTLWEST- yes i understand your point about Tuareg and so everyone is clear i made no accusations whatsoever about Jose Diaz or Tuareg and believe that he is worthy of his VA-1 title. You too have the respect of all and i ask you to stand up and give your HONEST OPINION.

I will.  I was there and was sitting directly adjacent to the front half helper and didn't see any preferential treatment given to any of the dogs.  I couldn't tell you whether or not every dog got exactly the same number of stick hits or whatever but I have known Steve for many years and can assure you that he is as disgusted as anyone with the lack of working ability and/or training of some of the dogs and doesn't play favorites.

All the routines IMO where the same...Did I count the stick hits???..No, there was no need to IMO...: )  I was watching pretty closely and feel I would have noticed...

Even though I was not there at the show I think I can comment on Steve's character having known him for many years.  There is no way on earth Steve House would ever bend the rules and show favor to one dog over another.  He plays by the book and no less.  I do know that judges routinely tell the helpers how they are to work the dogs and I don't know what that means exactly so perhaps blame the judges if you must lay blame somewhere but not on the helpers when they always get rave reviews from the onlookers about their consistent and fair work toward all dogs.

Please don't bash the helpers... any one of those helpers know their craft far better than most of the posters here.... The helpers at any show are under the command and instruction of the judge and will work all the dogs exactly the way the judge has specified.....

That is what I saw.... if you did not like it then you need to take your comments to the judge and not slam these helpers who take a beating for nothing more than their love of this activity....

The helpers were super!! I have known Carl and Steve personally forever it seems, they are professionals and as a personal good friend I can tell you they would never do such, neither of them is anything but supportive, fair and helpful.
Carlos also, many times he has been the helper at these events, he has always done a GREAT job and helped everyone possible and then would work the rest of the weekend handling his dogs!!!
If you think its easy or you can do it better then step forward and do it, whatever it may be.

Thank you Mandy...that comment was very much appreciated.
Helpers are always under the supervision of the judges ...period.
The very last thing that any helper (especially at one the biggest events of the year for any organization) is perform anything less than excellent & fair.
We (helpers) must compose ourselves professionally, and above all...provide safe, solid decoy work for your dogs and our own.  Our job is to *test* the dogs, expose and provide  *clear, unbiased, visual effect* of each dog's temperament and fighting instinct. It is the *judges* job to actually *see* it.
Dogs are living, breathing creatures...and will have good days and not so good days....as will we humans as well.
Training has so much baring on *what* a dog will look like.....but not on *what* the dog actually is.  True knowledge comes from being able to know the difference.

I would never enter a venue, if I was not confident in the ability of it's helpers.....(the dog that we brought failed because he should have failed....he was not 100% ready, and it was my fault to attempt it.).....it was no fault of the helpers.
respectfully,
crhuerta
