Almost 2 years and no AKC Papers - Page 2

I just looked up sire and dam.  Dam's registration number is not listed here on Pedigree database, Sire's SV number IS listed.

hexe, I wrote a cheque for the deposit. and paid cash upon delivery for the balance.

Since you figured out who my breeder is, I won't name, but will just say for anyone interested they can view what was probably my last post prior to this one, or close to it.  I have my girl posted at 9 weeks with her Pedigree database listing which names her breeder.

I guess that is as good as naming....

I don't like email as a communication tool when absolute verification is needed.
There are just too many "outs" with it.
If the breeder is blanking you try contacting him/ her using a different email address and if possible a different PC (different Ip address).
Do not say who you are and just make a general enquiry.
That way you will be sure one way or another whether he/she is actually receiving email at the specified address.

If you make contact under the new email address restate who you are and what you want and explain that you had to resort to using a different email address because you could not get a reply from him/her.

Write down all times, dates and details of any communication or attempts at communication, it might help you if you are dealing with the AKC at a later date.

Best of luck with it, sounds like a terrible way to be treated and in reality a reputable breeder would fulfil his end (i.e. papers) of the deal with anyone he sold a pup to regardless of any personal feelings or animosity that may have arised in the process. Sounds like a truly "Bad Egg" here. Again, best of luck and regardless of how things turn out I hope your dog brings you many years of happiness...............

dpdmli.....thanks for the tips.  I have tried I think three emails I can find for the breeder.....I will try to email from a new address though just as a general inquiry and see if I get a reply. 

If you have the full name of either parent of your girl, you can go to AKC, look under "Store" then go to online pedigree search.  Type in the name and hit search, and it will pop up the AKC number of any given dog. Personally, that is way too long to have to wait! I would be furious. The breeder should be ashamed of themselves.  When people pay for a dog, they should recieve what they paid for, an AKC reg dog!  You've waited plenty long, in my opinion.

Thanks Judy, got it and replied back!!  Thank you SO much for all of the PMs and words of encouragement.  I feel as though I probably haven't pursued this as agressively as I probably hsould have, but then again, I shouldn't have to pursue this at all.  Hopefully I can get her reg soon.

Okay.....ao I went to the AKC website after Judy PMed me and set up an account, and then went to store--->online pedigree search, like CMills suggested and was able to pull up Dam and Sire and see their Reg #'s but when I type in my girls "registered name" I get nothing.

Does this mean she is not registered???

Rarely does a breeder register the individual pups from a litter with AKC.  To do so would put the pup directly in their name, not yours-the owner.   What the breeder does is register the litter with AKC, other than providing the information of the sire and dam the only other thing required to register a litter is the date they were born and how many pups in the litter.   The breeder then receives a puppy registration form for each pup in the litter.  This is what you are waiting for, the puppy registration papers.  You will register the dog with AKC with the name that you provide them.  (this is why your dog does not show up as registered with AKC) 

Besides the problem that you've had with not being able to pre-lim your dog with OFA, you will also likely be charged the additional fees that AKC charges when a dog is registered with them for the first time and it 12 months or older. 
If you are charged the additional fees by AKC then morally your breeder should be responsible for the extra costs because he is so late providing you the papers. 

Thanks for that. I feel much better now. I was scared for a second. With my CKC guy the breeder did the full reg in my name and then sent me the certificate with him reg in my name, so I didn't realize it was done any other way. At this point I would pay the fee to do the late registration, I have no desire to fight with the breeder, I just want my papers do I can get her registered. I am done with the breeder. Once I get the papers there will be no more contact with him.
