aceofspades

I almost broke down crying I was so happy.  He emailed me on April 20th saying they would be sent on the 21st, I was beginning to worry that they weren't coming as it has been close to three weeks and it should not take that long for lettermail.  I was going to give it until the weekend and email again, but they were there today.  So so happy.  Now to fill out the papers and send them off to AKC and I will have her registration.  For the record the envelope just took it's sweet time.  The postmark is for the 23rd which is the first business day following the 21st so he sent them as indicated, they just took their sweet time to travel about 500 miles.

Please be sure you make copies of all papers front and back and send by  certified mail

After all you have been thru, if the papers get lost you will be in for a nervous breakdown..so take every percaution to make copies even of your check or money order.

I have decided that I will do the transfer online through the AKC website. I figured that should be pretty safe. That way I also retain the original transfer of ownership with the breeders original signature.

YellowRose, I am not sure if it was a slip up on AKC's part or not, but I was issued AKC papers on my German import and I have
not as of yet submitted DNA. I was under the impression that DNA was not required unless you planned on breeding? Please
clarify.

AceofSpades, congrats! I'm sure you are much relieved!

If you were talking to me then yes as well as per my agreement with the breeder. He never limits registration.

I imported a Czech bitch years ago, and only had to send her FCI papers to the AKC, no DNA for her, either. I too, received full registration.

sorry.. Ace and Melba!! yes to both.. and glad for both!! hows that :)  I have been following this journey and it is scary out there!! so glad it all turned out good!! Some breeders completely black out the numbers for full reg .untill the hips come back good.. I was just wondering! reading the little words in contracts can be daunting at times!! Sherry

On some FCI transfers there are DNA requirements.. ALL imports have different circumstances so not knowing  this one or seeing all papers have no answers.

BuT do have one question...is your space blocked out or do you see the numbers needed to register your dog

Also if it is a transfer you cannot do it on line... I do not understand if transfer or Puppy application you are using.

There is a difference in the two terms.. Please clarify..

If it is a simple puppy application signed and the space is not checked saying LIMIted AND THE BOX  is still open and you read numbers on it to be used by you...you are ok

BUT if it is a transfer slip , and the pup is already registered, I believe you have to submit the transfer slip with shown signatures...
