Many of the so caleed experts on here spend so much time in the grey area they fail to see what is black & white. The op was not asking to train in schutzhund plus do EXECUTIVE LEVEL 111 protection work. Just for their schutzhund dog to protect them. I think I gave some sound advice as I have seen more than my share who will do it in a heartbeat. Act stupid get bit. Plain & simple... what's next ? Genotype & phenotype ? As far as your experience with some past tiekerhook your not the only one who has seen some hectic nervy & sharp.... But right now he has some very very strong breeding females who are producing some very nice pups and they are not just going to AMERIKA. Are you a little jealous ? Maybe one day you will breed a strong dog who will be 2x 3rd place wusv. But you better place him in the hands of someone who is capable of doing it. Otherwise it will just be another strong dog with the owner shouting HE IS NOT A SPORT DOG BUT BRED FOR REAL WORK...lol. When searching for my next female pup which is the only dog I own and is the pup in my avatar I did choose tiekerhook. I took some flak at my club about what it cost me by the time it arrived at the airport. Fellow club members also got pups that are just a bit older than mine. All i will say is I am having the last laugh now hahaha. Ps... I know where there is a litter pups. Father nice dog. Mother a nerve bag anybody want one pm me... lmao

 Answer to :destiny4u

That is desirable effect of proper pp( personal protection)  training. When dog is with a handler he needs to respond to his command like during obedience. Now you do it and now you do not.
When I tell to properly trained pp dog that it is OK then the dog needs to defuse is intentions to attack. That is a total difference from dog who is merely under control.  Dog under control is down stay but is a loaded spring with murder on it's mind. It  is a  dangerous proposition if someone mixes  defused dog and dog under controlled but alerted stay.
There are different levels of this in a good dog.
0. normal defused friendly dog.
1. initial alert
2. attack
3. controlled but alerted  down/ stay ( dog is under control but not defused.)
4.It's OK. ( Dog is defused and accepts the "bad guy" as now "good guy".)

When the dog is without the handler  guarding his/her territory of a house or estate. Such dog (without the handler) regardless what the stranger is doing  should never accept strangers and defuse.

Except breeding for extreme versatility, breeding for extremes is a destruction of the GS breed for a purpose of personal gratification.

prager another quick question if in pp we do not use a diffuse command but our dog gets use to automatically calming down either acting nuteral around the decoy Or being friendly based on repetition is that okay also? Soon as the decoy loses the battle and the pp dog won and calms down and is let free off the leash to walk around?

vomeisenhaus , julian clement trains all the time with Bart Bellon and Jurgen Zank, now you tell me what got him the points, the dog or the training.

You tell me what will happen if you got stupid with clement with dusty at his side ? I can tell you for sure what would happen if it was wusv bond vom reddighauser land at his side and I'm willing to bet dusty is the same. I would love to set down with a 6pack and enjoy the show :) You just proved my point that I said earlier that without the right support group you can not take dogs like dusty to high level competition so thank YOU. You turned an anthill into a mountain that was not needed. The right dog doing only schutzhund training WILL PROTECT HIS HANDLER and the. ones I have had PERSONAL EXPERIENCE WITH would take a kick to the ribs & a crack to the head & KEEP ON FIGHTING and fight hard. And no your not going o call him off and run back to you with his tail wagging in the midst of a true fight. Let's get real here people. Somebody who has the balls to do a home invasion is not going to be waring a bite suit or going to safely catch your dog. He is going to fight your dog and in some instances your dog may need some help from his handler. I think some people have missed some good episodes of cops...lol. my belief in a true ppd dog may not be the perfect family companion. Let's get real here. Are you going to walk your dog in walmart? What a bunch of bologney. How many of the dogs that the ppd gurus have for sale that call these dog off and his tail is wagging and all so obedient will actually take a REAL KICK TO THE RIBS or a CRACK OVER THE HEAD WITH A BEER BOTTLE and still stay in the fight? Ill bet that scenario will wash out 75 plus percent of them. It is all about the dog & not the training. No training will overcome genetics. If you can do that I have a friend that would pay you to teach his hounds to smella 2 day old bear track. He has had 1 in the past that could lol

Many Police dogs are Schutzhund titled...or at least trained...Their beginnings are thru Schutzhund training...It's not until later that there is a different approach...
Basically a Schutzhund dog is a dog that will bite the sleeve and is focused on the sleeve...Or some people will say "equipment oriented"...For Personal Protection or Police Work (apprehension) you want a dog that can focus on the Man...with or without the sleeve...

Once again there are many ways of training...and a dog can be brought along many different ways...I don't believe in training a puppy or very young dogs in defense...I think a dog needs to mature a bit before too much pressure is put on them...But once again all dogs are different...Some mature earlier then others...And the training can be adjusted to their maturity level...

Although some people think a dog can work in Schutzhund and be a on the street Police Dog...I know some can and are able to do this...but most will only be good in one venue...

Bancroft... what is the last tiekerhook dog you were involved with? Who was his father & mother? Not seeing a sharp nervy dog in my pup who is 13mo old now. In fact she is solid nerve and very good drive in all phases. Very upbeat in obedience and showing good NATURAL AGGRESION. I have a video of her on youtube retrieving dumbell over hurdle & wall at 10mo old. Just type in her name ABIGAIL VAN TIEKERHOOK. She takes corrections well and has took a lot of pressure from me at a young age. I am a self admitted horrible handler & terrible trainer. A young dog who can take my training has to be good. She ain't no shitter :)

Yes ok I see video. Good jumping skill, fast good drive. Pickup needs more clean. V presentation.
Dog look happy and stable nerve.
no problem.
