Bhall - its none of my business, I know, but can I attempt to mediate here ??

[Don't know either of you, so I've no axe to grind.]

Yes the OP should not have gotten 'heavy' with you, issued any threats at all, or posed as something
he probably isn't;  and yes he should have been clearer about what he wanted to buy the dog for in
the first place.

BUT  it would have suited you better to check out what he exactly meant by 'competition dog' at the
beginning, if that is what he said, it's a phrase which covers a multitude of things;    and he's not got his
dog, so at one level he has a right to be disappointed, and angry - that's understandable, though showing
the anger to / at you in the way he has is NOT excusable.

So as he has said he's willing for you to keep part of the purchase price for the aggrevation (and that
includes not being sent the full whack for shipping, if you have proof he fell short on that) ...
why don't you just send him his partial refund  ?  You would be the one who comes out looking good,
if you could agree he gets half back or whatever.   If he'd paid a Deposit on a puppy and then rejected
it when it was ready, he would have forfeited that money, right ?  Same principle.

Just my suggestion to you both, it would be better than have this thing escalate on here ?

My first thought was and sorry for changing the subject, why not just have him examined by a repro vet instead of assuming and most importantly check for brucella..(if not done when he arrived)? That would be a big concern if it were me after 2 empty bitches. On the other hand maybe he is not permanently sterile but no way to know if he doesn't go to a vet. Hope this can be resolved for the parties involved.

Buyers lie, sellers lie, people lie.

The OP obviously is not English, and there very well could have been an honest misunderstanding.  Fact remains, you have the dog and his money.  Give him back his money.

Perhaps if he wasn't threatening to sue her, he would get his money back ASAP. It may not be in her best interest to refund him without very solid proof of refund (such as court docs) if he is threatening her. There are all kinds of weirdos out there, including weirdos who will say you didn't give them money when you did, all in the name of getting even more. It's amazing to find out the lengths some loonies will go to cause trouble for someone else. The fact that she hasn't even shipped the dog yet, because he wasn't paid for yet, but he acknowledges that she did tell him he was sterile tells me the OP is WAY ahead of himself jumping the gun about coming on here to complain about Birgit. This is the stage where he should email or call her and apologize for flying off the handle about the dog being sterile and ask for a partial refund. This is nowhere near PDB scandal status yet, imo.

It is not about the money... It is about the threats etc.  There is a lot more to the story.  He emailed and threatened me immediately.  Saying he would slam my name all over the internet before we even had a chance to discuss.  So I am not refusing to work anything out but I will not be threatened and bullied by anyone. So I am done on here about this matter. I do not need to be on the database discussing my business and explaining things that took place.
That is very childish and I was never unreasonable.  Threatening and bullying is not the way.
Thank you everyone for your comments.
