I am pretty new to posting here but have a been a lurker for years and have learned a lot off of this site.  I just had to post my opinion.  I hope the purchaser gets his full refund.  If the dog was being sold intact and with full registration he should have been told upfront about the problem, even if he didn't mention he wanted a breeding dog.  Even if he has threatened to sue.  And I don't feel like it's anyones place to try to teach another adult a lesson.  I just feel bad for the guy to be out so much money and the dog.  But again, this is just my opinion and not meant to upset anyone.  I understand there is more to the story :)

I believe most people on this forum know that Brigit is a very responsible person and breeder of fine European German Shepherds and has an extraordinary training program from which she promotes and trains and sells dogs all over the world.

Her value to this breed is immeasurable and she has not gotten where she is today by not being an honest and reliable breeder.  I am sure if properly handled that this matter will get solved in due time.  I am positive that she knows not to keep your money and not deliver a dog.  That is NOT how she runs her business.  Best of luck to you getting this matter solved.

Just so you know, in our country the best way to handle people is by communication and polite conversation, threatening people can get you in a whole lot of trouble.  Good luck.

Thank you Nans GSD.  That is my whole point.  I am a reasonable person and I will always works things out.  Always have and always will.  I just refuse to be bullied.

So, why don't you  send money back? Because he said that he is going to litigate?

Show him what a reliable breeder you are and give him back his money and be done with this.

This thread is ridiculous.  JGerman clearly went about this the wrong way and chose the wrong person to jump the gun with.   Seems to me that the issue between JGerman and Birgit were nowhere near the stage of needing to be made public.  I seriously doubt JGerman is a lawyer, or ever stepped foot in a law class, no professional lawyer would do or say the things he has in this thread.

Like Nans says, Birgit is a well known as a responsible importer and breeder.  I have no doubt that she will see this transaction through in an adroit and responsible manner.

By coming on here to accuse Birgit prematurely, you've wilfully tried to tarnish her reputation and hurt her business, which could hurt her financially.  It seems to me that you did not do due diligence in researching either Birgit or try to be more upfront about what you wanted and learn more about the dog before you sent your money.  Be glad Birgit didn't send you a sterile dog without ever telling you beforehand, like a real crooked seller would do.

It has been my experience that people who jump the gun to accuse other people of wrongdoing are typically people who are wrongdoers themselves.  No one cries "Lies" or "Theft" faster than a liar or a thief.    So JGerman, keep these things in mind, change your way of thinking and the way you do business, you will get more in life this way.

Red Sable

So, why did he have to threaten to sue, and why did he feel the need to be a bully as you call it?  I'd imagine it is because the dog is not as he thought, 3500 bucks is a LOT of money for a pet, and he seems to be out the money and the dog.
That is reason enough to get a little hot behind the collar if you ask me.
He seems to be groveling quite nicely on here now, hopefully that is enough to warrant his money back.Sad Smile

Hmmmmm is right.
Just goes to show, no matter how nice and  honest someone appears , for some it only takes a large sum of money to bring out their true colours.

Red Sable, yes, USD$3500 IS a lot for a pet.

It is not, however, a "lot" for an already titled, young, healthy (other than the question as to fertility) COMPETITION dog.  Big difference.

If all this buyer wanted was a 'pet', he could've gone to any animal shelter that might be in his country, or any backroad farm for that matter, and gotten himself a pet dog.

The crux of the matter is this buyer seems to think that just because a dog is being sold for competition as well as companionship & personal protection, it should also be warranteed as a breeding stock animal. If that's not how it was advertised, and that's not how it was sold, then the question of fertility is moot, as the seller holds that this point was never discussed.

In the end, it will likely be worked out, but I do think the buyer jumped the gun in brandishing the whole thing here so quickly. Certainly was NOT going to help his position or improve his relationship with the seller.
