That could be possible if it is a young one, blues have blue eyes for a long time before they turn yellow and if the white was actually masking a blue dog, the eyes could well be blue.

I met a liver a couple of days ago, pure working lines, so you never know where it will pop up.

It was a year old, so I am guessing the latter., though I've never seen a blue dog with blue eyes, they have always been yellow?  The people I spoke to said she had a blue dog which was masked by white.

She is breeding the liver to her liver carriers to obtain 'chocolate' pups! . Because these breeders rarely if ever put the dogs registered kennel names on their websites, it is difficult to check whether they are health tested or what those health tests results are. I believe the litter is currently advertised on epupz. The only pedigree (incomplete) that appears is of their original stud dog.

The liver I met has had her hips and elbows done and she is doing her BH in a few weeks time.  There are some breeders here that claim to have Pandas that are supposedly crossed with Husky (just hearsay, but I wouldn't be surprised as they seemed to come out of nowhere) so if one of those is in there somewhere, permanent blue eyes would not be a surprise.

@kaffirdog,
I met a "panda" shepherd a while back and wow, did it look like a mutt. More or less shepherd structure with a white, black, and brown pattern that made it look like some old farm dog. Also ended up with several of the miniatures as a local BYB was breeding the smallest of her GSDs in an effort to sell them as designed, more manageable German Shepherds. Luckily for dogs everywhere, she had to give up her breeding operation due to a home foreclosure and most of the dogs ended up in rescue. Terrible form and temperaments- scared of almost everything and skinny as rails.

These are definitely not working lines LOL. I've got nothing against livers (not chocolates!) showing up unexpectedly as some off colours just do. I just don't have an affinity with them or like them particularly But those that occur naturally and which are from good healthy stock - fair play and I wish them well. That just isn't the case here, just a breeder specifically breeding for 'unusual' colours.  There is some epilepsy in this kennel's lines too, but that's no surprise either.

i would never breed specificaly for a recessive color if it shows up. k understandable thats how i got my female. but i wouldent srive my hole breeding program to a liver or blue dogs and my female is not liver or blue :p but just saying its strange.

So there we were thinking that we were talking to a very pleasant owner of two lovely German Shepherds when it appears we were actually talking to a nasty two faced very unpleasant person.  My GSD's are indeed not happy about other dogs hence the lead and the muzzle.  You were more than happy to talk to us for 15 minutes with your dogs - one of which you admitted can be aggressive to other dogs - stroking my dogs head.  I cannot believe you went home and immediately posted such a nasty vindictive comment on here and to go onto also put nasty comments about the breeder is in my opinion outrageous.  Just to put the record straight the boys father was trained as a police sniffer dog and therefore when the breeder needed to rehome some of her dogs (the reason for that is none of anyones business but hers although I am aware of the reasons) she needed to find a good home for an ex sniffer dog - not an easy feat.  She managed to find him a home with a police dog handler and therefore next time get your facts straight before you go putting your nasty thoughts onto a forum.  It saddens me that you appear to be so jealous of my dog that you felt the need to put these comments on here.  You are clearly a very sad old woman with nothing better to do with your time.  My boys are wonderful pets who simply are not a ease with other dogs.  There owner at this present time is feeling far more aggressive than they will ever be.  Please do everyone a favour and keep your nasty comments to yourself - no-one cares that you don't like chocolate GSD's and for your notes that is what they are sold as to the public because their colour more resembles chocolate than liver so less of the blank look comments.  I note that you had to put in that Jay Kay bought a dog although I very much doubt you really have any idea who jamiroqui are however yes he owns Kruger who is in fact my boys uncle.  Next time you are in the park don't bother even looking in our direction - I will be letting everyone who walks their dog there no what a sad and nasty person you are.

Well.  That's told you, Abby !!!  Methinks the lady doth protest too much.  The
circumstances of her dogs father being rehomed do not actually explain why
he has to be placed as an 'only', do they ?   But I suspect 'hisblue' really knows
as much about the real facts of that story as she does about coat colours in
GSDs - bugger all.  The trouble is the network of breeders behind all this rely
on the ignorance of the 'pet' people they sell to; that's what enables them to keep
going.  Wake up and smell the coffee, hisblue !

PS  Hisblue -  know that Abby, far from being old & twofaced & unpleasant, has
FORGOTTEN more about German Shepherd Dogs than you will probably ever learn.

I couldn't care less what shes forgotten about GSD's all I do care about is the reputation of the breeder and my two boys. She had no right to put these comments on this site. The breeder is a caring conscientious person who breeds for the love of the dogs and not to make massive profit. I have two extremely healthy happy dogs who are more than happy to share their home with a third dog who we already had when we bought them. These sites are set up to satisfy small minded people with nothing better to do with their time than slag other people off - the only reason I can see is a green eyed monster one. I do hope I bump into you again in the park as you need to be taken down a peg or two. If this continues I will consider taking legal advice as all your comments in the direction of the breeder are being made up in your sad little heads. Go out and find yourselves a life and leave the rest of us alone.
