Without blaming you, I know training in your country is more than difficult: did she ever have a chance?

by Ibrahim on 02 January 2013 - 19:01

I taught her sit, down, stay, come here, she knows her name, she knows No, she knows up, she knows to your home, she was very quick to learn and never forgot any word. We play tug, we play with the flying plate and with the ball, she learned to fitch the bird when I go hunting, but she had zero shutzhund and bite work training.
I trained my male dog bite work through a trainer, the best one here Thumbs Down, and posted some videos from the training and experts here advised me to stop and run away before the dog is damaged, so no bite work training for any of my other dogs.
I teach property guarding to my dogs, using strangers from outside the fence teasing the dog etc, chetra is good, the best is Orwell.

And when we are hunting, she stays with me very close, she was never afraid of the shotgun sound and I only showed her how to fitch, I run with her to the bird and put the bird in her mouth and run back, two or three times and she started going to the bird herself and bring it to me and put it in the box. So you can say she learned by herself, no treats, nothing

This is more than some other dogs would do. Give her a chance!
It´s a pity you´ll never have a real opportunity to train your dogs.
Did you ever think about moving to Germany? It´s not that bad over here...

by Ibrahim on 02 January 2013 - 19:01

No it's not bad there at all, I've been to Germany in 2000 for training program at HILTI

Maybe you should come over here for 3 months training some dogs!
Sidenote: I believe in HILTI...

I always go for head, eyes, and expression. My boy in my profile is one big fella, at about 47 kilos, and that is solid muscle. He has one of the biggest heads, on a GSD, but everyone always says how gentle he looks. But very intent. Total workaholic with an attitude to die for. He is one of the most confident dogs I know, and has never had a fight in his life. He just looks, and most will back down. He doesn't need to DO anything.
My youngster also has a lovely expression, but is definitely a doer. He is always first in, and first out, and has the advantage of speed.. What he loses in presence, he gains in style, and panache. Another workaholic, with attitude, but in a different way to my Rosco.
What I love is when people see them working.(they both do competitive obedience in the UK) and they come and comment that they smile all the way round the ring, and their tails don't stop wagging, but they are both totally intent on their work.
And Ibrahim, your girl is beautiful. I do love the darker coloured dogs as well, I must admit.

by Ibrahim on 02 January 2013 - 19:01

If work nourishes I may do it, but meanwhile you can send me a real good puppy whenever you spot one, I know you can know a good one when you see it, whether a show or work I don't care, a one who thinks he owns the ground he walks on, one who walks with his head up with pride you can not miss. For me no more foolish buying and foolish trusting of breeders, I had enough of it Teeth Smile

Ibrahim! I think your Chetra is a littermate to my Chekta ! Is Chetra's dam Galina? The only thing is, my dog's birthday is 6 September 2009, instead of 5 September 2009 like your dog.
I was going to say she resembles my Chekta a lot! And as Susie says, that expression does NOT say I'm sweet.
Chetra is Beautiful!!
