Well, isn't that something, we have litter mates! Chekta is one of my favorite dogs and she, too , loves to hunt. But she loves to tree squirrels and keep track of them in the tree tops.
So I bet you are the one who was mistakenly sent my dog's papers when she was a little pup, and I had to wait til they got straightened around :-)

I love Chetra, I have been listening very closely to all of you in your training and dog quality discussions etc and I have several dogs to compare to, Chetra is not her father's daughter, she's too sweet, she enjoys being cared for by my daughter, her best time is the time she spends with my daughter either playing or laying beside and listening to her, she is soft. No doubt she has good solid nerves, not timid but she has no civil side, no agression neither towards other dogs or humans even when she guards I can see the difference in intensity between her and my Orwell (son of Illo von der Abfuhr), I know she's soft and kind, she has no hardness in anything she does, she walks softly, she eats softly, she plays softly, and she has that sad look in her eyes most of the time, she's my baby but I won't illusion myself Shades Smile

Lol, I was told the same thing by Petr that there was a mistake in papers etc but in three months I received my Chetra's papers, but I never got any wrong papers.

Mirasmom, yes, that is my Chocolate Field Labrador, Joey,  beside my Bi-color boy.  Joey is a powerful, fast and muscular 100 pounder, with not an ounce of fat on him and can do a  standing leap (no crounching) onto a 5foot tall platform.....athletic like a bobcat.  Lordie (the bi-color) is also superbly athletic but in a GSD type of way.    Here is the original picture:

Here is another of Joey's pictures (a genuinely sweet guy, with not a single mean bone in his body):

Joanro: Well, isn't that something, we have litter mates!

Wow, so you managed to track down one of Chekta's litter-sisters !  It is a small world for sure.

Yes, it is, aaykay. :) what's interesting is hearing Ibrahim's description of Chetra. That is a description of my Chekta; no dog aggression or agression towards any other animals, no aggression towards people. But, she, too, is a good watch dog and will alert when strangers arrive.
I have not done any protection work with her, as there are no good helpers around that I will trust my dogs with, anymore. To me, the sound temperament and trainability, is exactly what GSD is supposed to be. Ibrahim should be very happy that his female doesn't act civil when there is not an appropriate reason to manifest such behavior. Carly has a reputation of being a bad ass, but how much of that has been created through training? I'm certain that I could bring out the nasty side of Chekta, but quite frankly, I have ample bad asses that are naturally that way, LOL. It's a pleasure to have a dog that I don't have to 'watch' when around people ;-).
