70% agression 30% prey.......others say........80% agression 20% prey

last helper tried to make her back down to prove that showlines arent for real.
he whiped and struck her with the baton  repeatedly until he realized she wouldnt' back down. it only enraged her
she is well trained and though she wanted to take him out she went for the sleeve.
she knows exactly where to draw the line when i'm on the other end of the leash.

i have dog who work under prey drive they are fun......this female is not one of them.

she is a controlled explosion........and i love her very much.

Sitasmom,
I'd love to see some videos of this dog working.

last helper tried to make her back down to prove that showlines arent for real.
he whiped and struck her with the baton  repeatedly until he realized she wouldnt' back down.

I'd find a new helper.  I wouldn't allow any helper to do that to my dog, I'd find a good use for the whip pretty quickly.

Edit:  If it is Nurma you are referring to, I saw the videos.  I really don't think she is 30% prey and 70% aggression as you claim but she is a nice dog.

This was at a seminar he wanted to prove that showline dogs couldn't hold up to pressure, I knew my dog could handle it,
He hasnt worked her since.
I also though of better uses for the whip.......

Not Nurma, different female

this person should not be allowed to own any pet other than a pet rock.

"....you can whip her, hit her and try to intimidate her, all it does it excite her...."

"...last helper tried to make her back down to prove that showlines arent for real.

the people you train with seem as demented as you.

you think this is cool and bragg about it on the internet, thats how sick you are.

vk4gsd - i'm sure you will twist this into something it wasnt........

this happened at a seminar and i had no idea it was about to happen and i was shocked......(and pissed)..
when I said "you can whip her and hit her",,,, I was refering to the way she responded to the padded stick and attached whip.

The stick was padded and the whip was at the end of the padded stick........the same equipment one would find in almost any helper's bag of equipment.

I'm sure you already know this but in protection phase of IPO a dog must accept stick hits as part of proof it has courage .During a sieger show a dog must also accept stick hits.  If it runs away when hit by the (padded) stick its disqualified. I've whacked myself as hard as I could with a padded stick and it didn't leave a mark..though the sound was impressive.

When training, some helpers use a whip on the end of the (padded) stick to make noise to build a dogs's drive, some helpers whip in front of a dog and sometimes its feet to bring out defence or agression in a dog that has too much prey drive. I have yet to see any whelps, brusing or blood from this and have never seen a dog limp because of it.

I instruct my helpers not to use the whip, as sometimes it causes dogs to react when they hear gunfire and during a conformaiton show judges may consider this reaction as being gunshy which is a disqualification, and in trials a dog that reacts to such sounds has points deducted.
