PINERIDGE

by PINERIDGE on 18 February 2013 - 01:02

this whole saga makes me sad.... and at the same time, thankfull that I haven't encountered many of these problems over the past 40 years.
Hope he continues to do better - but an average pup from around 12 to 20 weeks should be gainining a minumum of 2pounds a week or more -- that's been my experience. we had one very large puppy many years ago that put on 4 pounds a week
If there's "Nothing wrong" and he can tolerate it-- i'd get him on a raw diet -- it scares me when they eat so much dry ood -- and then drink sooo much water -- etc. etc. and if he eats FAST - that's another not good complication.

Is he pedigree in the database? you know how obsessive I am about genetics..

He probably is just getting used to a little extra weight and a little more exercise.
I know if I put 10lbs on, I know it.
I really hope he is just getting more exercise to get used to.I know you said you didn't run him as much as the female.

That is good, I am so happy to hear that. Keep up the good work with him.
Just like us, the happier he is, the better "all around" he will feel.
He probably did have a case of coccidia.
(I know some don't agree, but my dogs eat when ever they want, I myself feel they do better).
