You certainly have e experience to know what you're talking about. But I have seen my own dog stacked in the ring which made him look like he had a roach back and overangulated rear, with the off hind leg pulled way under him and to the out side which made his but drop down.... was not the dog's natural build at all.

That is why I posted so many photos of Vanessa, the stack can make one dog look quite a bit different.
Knowing your handler, and communicating what you want is the key to having your dog presented to the judge in the way you want it.

The stack is only a small part of it though.  A judge is not critiquing a photo.  A good judge will carefully examine each dog, put their hands all over the dog, watch the dog move at different paces from different angles.  Usually when I show a dog the dog is stacked at least three times and also stopped "free" coming back to the judge after a down and back.  You can't really fake the dog's true conformation when the dog is being shown unless the dog is not ring trained and/or the handler is not good in which case how dogs are stacked is not the problem.  The dog and handler need to have the appropriate training for the venue.

If the hind leg is pulled way under and off to the side, that's not proper stacking.  If the dog is stacked right you will see what the dog is.  So I can't agree that we should change how we stack dogs based on *bad* stacking, just stack the dog correctly and problem solved.  Good/correct stacking shows the dog for what he is.

That's a pretty bold statement to make.  How many breeds do you have experience showing?  Who are all these people that have problems with how their dogs are being stacked?  If you don't like it, then stack your dog however you want, or get a new handler if the handler sucks.  That seems like common sense to me.

what is the purpose of a showline dog anyhow??

Not really sure, all but one dog I've shown were working line dogs and they were well received.  What is the point of talking about a stack if your real point is bashing show line dogs?  If you hate show line dogs then don't go to dog shows and don't worry about stacking.

the stack is an integral part of showing dogs.............thats why

dog shows and beauty pageants dont really contribute anything of value to the evolution of either canines or human beings..............thats that.

Can you demonstrate how you show your dogs and stack differently and why it is better?
