No answers, Eddy?
In this case I´m done with you. You ask question after question, but you don´t give any answers.
Take care

In my honest opinion the dog posted is pretty far from the more normal looking dogs like utz and the last dog I posted. I guess you either like this look or you hate it;)  for me I can´t see why "bananbacks" and more angulation is so pretty or in any way are needed for a healthy sound workingdog. If this dog is closer than the standard in his structure than utz or the "showdogs" from the 60s then something is wrong with the standard and it´s need to be changed. I rather stick to the workinglines where both nice structure and stronger workingability are easier to find.

The beauty of the dog is in its utility!

^^It is....doesn't mean you can't have a pretty dog, too.  But then, I've seen some really nice working lines that I'd love to take home and some show lines you couldn't pay me to feed....and vice versa

by johan77 on 01 April 2013 - 20:04

Yes, but even a good working dog with todays showstructure is for me less beautifull compared to a bad workingdog with the old school structure;) if we are talking about only what is more visual appealing of course.

Then we definitely disagree, johan.  I will take Frankie Anrebri any day of the week over Utz

It's hard to tell a modern bred working dog from a show dog any more if you're looking at angulation and top line. Gotta breed what show judges put up if you're gonna show in conformation.
So it only stands to reason that the working lines, in many cases, are resembling more and more the SL structure. A lot of people believe that is what 'correct' is.

I see bright spots now and again as far as what judges are putting up. I was absolutely shocked (pleasantly) when my little Dolce won her show- she's black and 100% working line. Naturally I was happy because she was mine (duh), but more than that, I was happy because at least someone, somewhere, was willing to get the "image" of a super angulated black and deep red dog out of their heads and make waves by placing a little black working line dog ahead of the black and reds on the podium. So....I see some hope...and a reason for working line and show line breeders alike to breed what is correct, can work, can move, whose body can hold up in old age, and last but not least, is pleasing to the eye. I encourage people to show working lines; if they become "regulars" in the ring, whether people want to or not, the perception of "correct" will shift.

"...the perception of 'correct' will shift."
Let's hope. It would certainly be good for the breed.
Congrats on your girls win :-)

Did she win her show, or her class?
