Yep, Dawulf, you may find faults in every dog, but you showed us a couple of well structured working lines.
There is no reason why a working dog should not look well - and there is no reason why a showline dog should not work well.
All of it depends on the breeder´s choice, nothing else.

rik eat your heart out!...............a legendary trainer said it best " our twisted minds have twisted the gsd body"............but the proof is in the pudding if they can do what they were bred for which is WORK..........then no matter the structure.............

Susie, pyke is not that extreme in real life compared to many other showdogs that obviously is placing high in show, but yes, I much rather take a dog like eddie posted, lord. My only concern is a dog should be able to work long, and be healthy enough to not having be replaced too early because his body shut down. You see, I don´t want the dog to only "look well", I want a structure that is best suited for work, and that structure is probably more like the dogs I posted, because such structure is what is found in the wild and the early GSDs that hadn´t been influenced so much of what people think looks good or not.

This male is what I think is nice to look at, what part of him needs to change I ask again, with function and healthy structure in mind, not what someone thinks looks good or not, if the showcamp produced dogs like this with the workingability to match, then I wouldn´t mind owning such a dog,

T^his has turned out to be a really great thread. It has sure told me some things. One I aree wth what was said above--one should be out with the dogs and learning them and not from books. The other thing I'd like to say is When those pics were posted in blk/white poor Eddy didn't know A from Z. OK Eddy you nee to be out learning the dogs and possibly apprentice to someone as I believe you said you were interested in doing. I know why you are posting all these pics and this and that--cause you are trying to learn. Inthe meantime since you so obviously know so little, quit running down the showlines because you have no clue, some of what you are saying reflects that. And BTW I am not a showlines person but I am the type that believes there is good in every dog. You may have to dig for it a little deeper in certain dogs.........................Also I am the type that will help anyone but only if they help themselves.

After almost 30 yrs yes I know who Lord is very well. Why is that what matters here? And why never mind what you know--you're the one who starts all these threads. Are you trying to learn or do you just know so much you're going to put the rest of us down? Which is definately not a concern to me personally. Just since you showed up here, I've been wondering exactly what your trip is. BTW I see noone as being sneaky here and why would that bother you anyway? You know all about the showlines andhow sorry they are. Please don't stop now--I never knew this version of the breed's history.................
