You asked, in a condescending, feigned outrage sort of way, if I knew of a GSD breeder who used a dog who couldn't pass OFA or SV hips or elbows for breeding. That is a ridiculous question asked as a result of taking my post out of context, as you are wont to do. Of course, there are literally thousands of breeders breeding dogs that haven't even been xrayed. That is a whole different topic and unrelated to my post/point regarding longevity. That is all.

Moving right along...Mollyandjack, not sure. I think he was right around there, though, if I remember right.

Thanks, I'll look around and try to find out.

I think he died in 07? Close to that. That would put him at or around 12+.  Fairly sure about that.

I'm afraid you're right, Paul.

My first GSD lived to be 17.5 years old. She was related to the late great Lord.

she had no health issues, good hips & normal elbows. She was my working partner in SAR & demo dog until 13 years old.

Awesome! What was her registered name so she can be added to the list?

I'm looking for her SV / AKC paper work. I purchased her when I was 18 years old so have to look through old boxes from many moves since then. Her registered name was; Sireana Zukunft Inspiration

My Libby was over 14 when she was put to sleep.  Not only was she 14, but she was a healthy active dog up until the last day.  She actually took a few bites on the sleeve before heading to the vet on that last day.  She would go to the SchH club, play in the yard and chase her ball up until the very end.
