I have internet again!!! Whoohooo!

I've been getting messages hounding me for pictures. I wasn't trying to be stingy with them; I genuinely had no easy way to post them.

Aria vom Eisenherz and V Filius vom Dahlenher Land had 8 healthy pups on Nov. 14th., 5 boys and 3 girls.

Let's just say they were sort of what I was expecting................and sort of not.

Right after birth:
Newborn group shot

Now, at 3 weeks:

I hope those who asked are happy...I have a few more I'll post later. If you didn't ask and hate puppies, then just don't look;-)

Any coaties?

Not sure yet, D. There are a couple maybes, and I need to talk to the stud owner on them. I have ZERO experience in WGSL dogs and their puppy coats. I can tell you there aren't any that look like 'Pri's coated pups do at 2-3 weeks, but that doesn't mean there aren't any. I noticed one pup whose nails were obscured by fur when I went to clip them- the biggest black and red boy. If he's coated, he already has plenty of undercoat, so the "worst" he is woul be a LSC, probably a lot like Bravo or Chaos or Dina. These are strange genetics to me...they may just be fluffier than I'm used to. Their sire has a very plush coat, and I've never had a black and red pup before, so maybe it's just a coat color difference. I've only had blacks, which are often different, sables, and bicolors.

I don't know if Aria carries the gene for coats. Pri obviously does, but not sure if Ron did. Anyone know of a coated pup out of Ron vom Ludwigseck?

I was just curious. I know when I was there and you held Chaos and Cylas(?) up together for comparison, the difference was very obvious, even at 3 weeks. That pup in your second to last picture (with the reddish background) looks a bit more "poofy" than the others, but I suppose from the SL puppy pics I've seen, they all look poofy. Adorable nonetheless! I'd be curious to know how these guys are when they grow up, particularly those blues. You'll definitely have to make sure at least one of them goes to someone with a decent camera. Wink Smile

This is the one I wonder about...hard to see, but see the wispy longer hairs on his feet? He also looks to have more of a pronounced stop from the side, and that often is a sign of a coated pup. Another thing I notice is his tail looks more blunt, due to longer/more hair on it, so it doesn't taper as sharply at the end. Again, I have ZERO experience with black and red coat types...so they may just be fuzzy.

Yes, I also wonder about the sable male (poofy pup you mentioned). He looked at me and my first though was "Cierny" in that instant and I've been wondering if he's coated ever since. His expression was just like hers and she was coated, but different in appearance than Chaos. I remember sending Haley a ton of pics of her with Cylas to let her judge for herself and decide if she still wanted her. Too bad we never got to see her grow up. I wonder what type coat she'd have had..probably like Chaos but a bit "less.":

Blues typically get way darker and end up almost black. Many untrained eyes don't notice anything "wrong" with them.

Well, I'm glad you posted them, and I think they're beautiful, blues included [is there also one liver pup? Or maybe it's just the lighting or my monitor, 'cause the pup your boy has on his lap in the first string of photos looks like that could be liver...still pretty, regardless].

I think the pup you're wondering about coat on could be long stock-coat, but could just be plush, too.

Interesting how those off colors refuse to go away, no matter how hard breeders try, isn't it? And with a total outcross litter, no less.  We've had a couple of threads here with working lines throwing livers & blues, so it's in there.  I think Yellow Rose's friend macrowe had some a couple years back?

Like you said in the other thread, Jen--stuff from way, way back can pop up out of nowhere...
