Inhumane  ?   No.   But risky, possibly a bit foolhardy ?  Maybe.  I obviously know nothing about the background,  SS, but

I do wonder why a bitch who awaits her hip & elbow results would be bred, just because she was coveniently in season on arrival ?

Bills so steep the owner can't bear to wait five or six months ?

Let me repeat myself: I did NOT do this breeding!!!  Angry Smile

Nor would I have bred her without certifying the hips first.

You decide to do a co-ownership, you can't always call the shots.

Nor can you always publically say what you want, if you get my drift!!

I bred a dog without waiting for OFA's opinion. Aria. She was 5 years old almost, never x-rayed, I'd just gotten her, and I wanted to breed her before she was so old that her risks for whelping were higher. It just so happened that she was in heat when her OFA appt. rolled around. I saw the xrays and they were fantastic, so I bred her. I'd have missed the whole breeding had I waited for the piece of paper to confirm what I knew the second they were shot.

I am NOT saying I'd have done THIS breeding; I am only saying that not waiting for the "official" piece of paper once you've already seen the films, is not a criminal offense in and of itself.

I see you had to like your own post, dawg, in order to get SOMEONE to agree with you!  :D

You have NO RIGHT to judge the other owner's situation. I cannot violate her privacy by posting anything here, but if you had to walk a mile in her shoes, you damn well wouldn't enjoy it!!  Angry Smile

This breeding is an example of your pure ignorance for the breed.  You have no idea what you are doing.  You can make as many excuses as you would like, but trying to make a quick $ to pay some bills at the expense of your bitch and her pups does not sound ethical.  If the other owner is in that bad of a situation, I also question the care that is being given to any dogs they are responsible for, quality of feed everyone is being fed, etc.

I have reread your original post and also caught something very interesting.  You additionaly wish their was a female in the litter that I am assuming you would keep and add to your breeding program?  Sounds like a recipe for disaster for what you are doing.

People like you and your business partner give dog breeders a bad name.  Not only do you make yourself look bad, by doing foolish breedings like this you make individuals question ethics behind ALL breeders.

SS, there's no point in engaging that puppy sleeve level troll...they've already shown themselves to be a fear-biter, and it's a waste of time and effort to even bother trying to work with them.

This breeding is an example of your pure ignorance for the breed.....

Aha!  I see what's going on now. Someone is just wanting to get back at the posters who criticized him/her over the 'best stud in the US.' thread.

Stick it where the sun don't shine, Dawg. I said I'd be 'tempted' to take a pup, not that I would. All puppies are cute, and can cause that sort of reaction. I know a lot more about breeding than you think, and this is not a breeding I personally would have chosen to do, but it was a 'done deal' before I came on board as a co-owner. I like the bitch's lines, however, and am hoping for a pure WL puppy from a carefully chosen sire, one that compensates for her faults, once her hips and elbows are certified.

She was out to training at the club before she got too pregnant to work, and one of our helpers (the one who recently helped out at the world championships in France) says she's got a bite like an alligator, and has just about the best working potential of any dog in the club!

Did you bother to click on the link to take a look at the credentials of her breeder?

Guess not... Roll eyes

Dawg, go away and find another thread to trash.  This was a simple thread of cute puppies showing off..... Please don't add hang ups to it.

SS, they are cute as a button and I am sure the right homes will be found for all.

These are just 2 of the four?  Post pics of the others.  Love the puppy fever.   I can almost hear the puppy barks.   Puppy envy from way down south.

You can try and cover up yourself and what you are doing as much as you would like Sunsilver.  If you were not trying to make a quick $ off this ignorant breeding you would have passed on this particular bitch or waited till her next heat cycle.  One would think that with over 7k posts on this form you would have a better understanding on how to properly breed, and not mess around with this monkey business you are conducting.  Shows you are just in it to make some quick money to pay your bills like you originally said, not to better the breed.

If you were a responsible breeder you would not tolerate this insufficient breeding to your bitch.  A breeding bitch can only be bred a limited number of times, and this wasted breeding just eliminated one of the few times this bitch can ever be bred.  (You will probably breed her every 6 months however to maximize your profits to pay your bills, untill the bitch is so unhealthy and worn out she can no longer be bred.)

I suggest you stop breeding, and at the very least find some new business partners.

[yawn!]  You REALLY need to learn how to read, Dawg!  Roll eyes  Or how to stop jumping to TOTALLY erroneous conclusions!  Teeth Smile
