If I breed I will not let any one on this forum know about it, I wouldn't tolerate this sort of negative criticism, if I breed it will be my decision and no one has the right to throw his/her philosophy on me.

I get many PMs requesting opinion on dog's structure and they say they are afraid to ask for opinion in the open because they see many threads go off OP's intention or request. I do not blame those people. If SS was a weak person I bet she would stop posting like others did because of such responses.

This has got to be some sort of record--I don't think we've had a new member who was successful in turning virtually the entire board against them in less than 20 posts.

Very nice looking pups, and very good genetics, if the parents have elbows and hips done, I have never heard of these elements changing because they have or have not been sent or received back from OFA. Either the parents are or are not sound as determined by the empirical evidence. The certification doesn't make it so, the radiographs do. Good luck with the litter....a good litter is a good litter regardless of the reason why it was bred.

Thank you, Gustav!  I'm not against crossing WL with SL. I just wouldn't have done it with this particular stud.

Black and tan pup gets cozy with our new club helper, who has taken up squatting in the club trailer, after our recent trial!

Classic case of the emperor has no clothes.  There is an entire thread dedicated to breeding philosophy where almost everyone agree that health was at the top of the list.  There is another entire thread where everyone (including me) scoffed at GSDawg's breeding plans (including SunSilver as well).

Then GSDawg comes over here and picks a fight but I'll be damned if he's not right (and I hate admitting that).  Bred two dogs together, bitch doesn't have her hips and elbows done, no matching up of type or pedigree.  Just bred because the two dogs were there and someone needed the money.

I get that this is a thread to ooh and ahh over puppies.  Why would I want to sanction that kind of behavior by whoever the "breeder" is (and I use that term loosely).

And yes, I did go look at the website of the bitch's breeder.  The place where he himself states that 95% of his dogs go to just regular families.

This is a breeding that should have never happened, I hope to hell for the puppies sake that mom is OFA'd soon and all is good.  Who is going to buy the puppies without knowing that information?  Maybe pet buyers.....

Can anyone clarify if the hips and elbows aren't done or if they simply aren't back from OFA or whoever? There is a HUGE difference. SS said "pending," leading me to believe that they were X-rayed and simply waiting on the certificate.

Something wrong with making money, Dawg?? How do YOU pay for your dog's food and vet bills and those expensive OFA x-rays??

I did NOT do this breeding. The bitch was in heat when she arrived, and the stud was already on the property and available, plus the owner has bills to pay.

These are some of  the comments that bothered me.  None of the reasons are why we should be producing more dogs.  I don't know that we will get a valid answer at this point.  I seriously doubt that the xray were taken before the breeding because if they were, 1) they would be back by now 2) wouldn't have the comment about paying for those expensive OFA x-rays.

If they haven't been taken already, then it's not fair to the bitch to have taken them yet until she is back in shape.  Still all a huge gamble so someone can have some money to pay bills with.
