The guy I’m in contact with is named Martin and the owner/breeder of the the female is Josef Kralik.

Brick207, if I were considering importing a Czech dog, duke1985 is one of the folks I'd be gladly accepting assistance from when he offers it, since that's where he's located.

I'd agree, take Duke's offer of help, apart from where he is based he seems well connected and genuine and has been coming here a long time !

One thing though : people being willing to tell you their names properly comes fairly high up my personal list of 'good folk worth dealing dogs with', don't know if others here agree with me, but to me any 'air of mystery' is not a good starting point ...

the advice to buy in the U.S. is good, but only if you see the dog and know what you are looking at.

otherwise, buying sight unseen from unknown person it really doesen't matter if it is another state or another country, your chances are about the same.

If I was looking for a dog like this, I would take duke up on his offer and gladly pay whatever fee was involved for acting as agent.

Yes Josef karlic is the breeder/owner the females name is afi z daskona an her pedigree is listed on working-dog.com

Ok so this is the duke ive been seeing in post that go back 3or4 years on here right then ? Cause I’ve been thinking about trying to find him anyway cause every one says great things about him

brick, pretty sure there is only one duke on here. and I'm certainly not saying great things about him, never done business with him.

I will say, from many years GSD, that the breeders, brokers, whatever concerning GSD that have been posting here for over time, I would certainly trust over some stranger or "friend" of someone I was not able to communicate with directly.

duke1965 has been active here for at least 10 years at this point, Brick207; his kennel is Blackbull K9, and he's generously offered to help folks who are interested in importing a dog from the Czech Republic if they have questions, or want info on a breeder--and moreover, he doesn't do so to try and convince you to buy a dog from or through him, either. FWIW, it's a short list of folks I'd consult with about importing a Czech dog, and this fellow is one of the five people on that list.
