Would your have father used 2 unrelated dogs whom were products of a linebreeding so it would be a linebred dog having a mating with another unrelated linebred dog?

Hypothethetically lets say that the litter produced some dogs with missing teeths or testicle problems or other defects would you still use a pup from that litter which has no defects in a breeding program?

the best DDR and best producing DDR dogs were heavily inbred or linebred compared to the happy go lucky outcross BS of today

My dog Icon is linebred 2-4 on Hoky Va-Pe, whereas my (former) dog Dabear (Bear) is an outcross.    But, according to the Embark DNA test, Icon has a COI of 27% and Bear has 35%.    I find it curious, and am guessing that with Bear's predominantly Cz/DDR blood, the genetic diversity is less due to the geo-political restrictions on breeding in the past.

The linebreeding charts do not tell the whole story, but when combined with the COI for planning future litters, a breeder can examine the genetic potential in a 'paper breeding' before making any final choices.    Just more information to enable a person to select the best match, along with the other considerations such as 'dog in front', compensating/complementing characteristics and observation/reports.

More tools = more knowledge

 Icon z Canczech  Dabear vom Gorka (Bear)
 2-4  Hoky Va-Pe                                   No linebreeding found in 5 generations
 COI = 27%  COI = 35%

Tight line breeding on sound dogs with traits that are desired works. Out crossing is a guessing game, does not have the predictability with tight line breeding.
