I got 2 male GSD pups from a family member. The father is akc registered and the mother is also AKC but he never registered her to his name. He transfered the registration after the litter was born and now akc is not letting me register mine. The previous owner of the damn is Kimberly Klaitz ..I am trying to locate this individual so i can get these documents signed from akc . Located in NJ area the dam's registration number DN52687005

The person that has the litter your 2 puppies came from, will need to register the litter first. Then once they get those papers they should give your individual paper for registering each puppy that you received. I hope this helps.

While it's not impossible that someone reading your post her might know the previous owner of the mother of your pups, it's definitely a long shot. I'd suggest you start with a web search--check Google, Facebook, etc.--to try and locate the person, as it costs nothing and you've got nothing to lose if you email or privately message 10 people with the same name before you find the correct individual. A quick and dirty web search readily brought up information on several individuals by the name you mentioned, at least one of which indicated that the woman had relocated from NJ to FL.

Your brother screwed up by breeding and whelping a litter before he'd registered the mother of the pups in his own name, frankly, and the previous owner has zero obligation to you or him to sign off on any additional paperwork at this point, so don't be surprised if she refuses to do so even if you manage to reach her. She wasn't the breeder of the litter, after all, and she didn't derive any benefit from the breeding, so there's really nothing you can do if she says no.

I do sincerely wish you luck, but keep in mind that unless you have your heart set on showing your dogs in conformation classes or using them as stud dogs, whether or not they're registered is of little importance. Given that your brother didn't bother to register the female in his name before the pups were born, I'm going to guess he probably didn't have the hips and elbows of the male or the female x-rayed and graded by OFA or PennHIP. If that's the case, then I would hope you aren't seeking the registration for your dogs so you can use them as studs, because breeding German Shepherds which have not received certification of sound hips and elbows is irresponsible, and unnecessary given the sheer number of dogs available that do have such certification.

It was my uncle that lacked the knowledge of AKC registration. The mom and father both have solid pedigrees according to what I've found on this site. I wanted to get involved in some sporting stuff because of the high drives of the dogs that I have. I found her on Facebook and praying i can get this worked out.

Well, if you've found her, you've got half the battle won, then. And don't forget, you can still participate in various dog sports without registrations, if things don't work out with the former owner of the dam. Here's hoping that the woman is graciously willing to help you out, though.
