Despite hearing other bad reviews about Shady Lane, we submitted a deposit with the expectation of getting the second pick of the males in the litter. My daughter and I went there only to see another customer drive off with a pup. He was early and Cindy claimed to be pissed off about it. Yeah, right. Her story got stranger from there. Another pup was promised to a customer of a previous litter. Another died from an undiagnosted leg injury. I knew I was dealing with nothing but BS and almost left. My deposit would have been lost, too. I toured the backyard. Goldens are kept in wire kennels, with small wood sheds for shelter. They are there for one reason, to breed. I've been to a real puppy mill before and felt this was inches away. So between my daughter liking the only remaining pup and feeling it was a rescue, I took the dog. It was the runt and is a bit timid. He's nice and will make a good family pet. As I told my daughter, I like the dog, but Cindy lied to us, making me very angry. This is not the way to pick a family pet. My previous dog was bred by a nice local family who did it for the experience. Shady Lane is 180 from that. I cannot recommend this breeder.

There are at least half a dozen GSD kennels called " Shady Lane" .  You may want to edit your rant to avoid slandering some of the other breeders who also use that prefix.  Just a thought.
