No it's not a round and round question.

Felloffher, do you think a bunch of nothing exploded and resulted into everything ?

Because I happen to not believe that because of the laws of thermodynamics that a chaotic first element dictated themselves into complexity formations an DNA codes and/or by random chance engineered nothing into something.

Again I ask you, do you think our universe is an isolated system or not an isolated system ?

Well, I've never seen a god, never talked to one, but I have been to hell and back a few times. I keep getting sent back because, apparently, he likes my work.-------------------------Honestly, why do you guys care? No matter what religion, or atheist, does it matter? God is forgiving and accepts all, right? Or is he going to damn those led astray by upbringing and culture?

BabyEagle,

I will answer both of your questions with the same answer, I have no idea and couldn't say with any certainty and neither can you.

We have science and we have religion, both developed by man in an attempt to explain our existence and the universe around us. Science uses facts, finds and research to support theory (not concrete evidence) to give a reasonable explanation and religion uses thousand year old stories written by men claiming that a god created us and the universe.

Now I can understand your difficulty excepting the Big Bang Theory, because I have a hard time believing it as well. That being said, if you don't buy scientific explanations, I don't see how you can find stories of the earth being created in 7 days by a god anymore believable.

Faith is one thing, but it doesn't replace logic and proof.

Well according to your logic, there's nothing to prove God or scientific. So ya, round and round is your proof. Makes sense now. Diminutive box you live in.

BE, you lack knowledge. If you think the Big Bang Theory claims that something came from nothing. The Big Bang Theory explains the beginning conditions of our observable universe. Asking what the conditions were before the big bang and what happened before the big bang is irrelevant. Talking about things before the Big Bang is pure silly.

LOL

by devnull on 15 March 2011 - 04:03

Just as it is silly for a Christian to ask another Christian what came before God, so to is it silly to ask what came before the Big Bang. Only difference being, Big Bang has a higher probability in truth than some fairy godlike being who goes off on a power trip now and then.

Whats silly is you apparently think that only matter exists and that the human brain only seems to have a distinguish subconscious ability.

               Fellofher....Your Quote...

" Faith is one thing, but it doesn't replace logic and proof. "...

               Yes, it does....: )

Faith is not logical and can not be proven because that is the essence of faith...: )

That is why there is no need for persuasion or argument on either side...Unfortunately most Christians do not understand that truth. Most " professing " Christians get the reputation of being Bible Thumpers because they spend much time trying to accomplish with words, what can not be accomplish with words...And it leads to resentment and frustration on both sides....

God is God and you believe it by faith or you don't......: )

                Deanna...: )

Don't mix metaphysics with theoretical physics. That's your problem there. If you have a problem with duality, go argue with a materialist.
