Alboe2009........ What is "Ice Wine"? Nah, would rather go back to Italy to drink it. The cheese, olives and wine just don't taste the same here.

Deanna.........What is white merlot? Is it sweet, dry, oakey?

B&G St. Louis Beaujolais or just about any Beaujolais.  Very dry red wine.

It's been so long since in Germany and having that wine. Wonder if you could google it to get the complete definition. Here's what I remember and I would think some of the "locals" would jump in and explain better.

I want to say if the region/winery "extended" their season past what was their normal season or due to the temperature or elevation? then a certain process would have that type of wine or certain bottles to form a crystallization or crystals that would be visible (like laying on the bottom of the bottle" This bottle of "Ice" wine would be better tasting even though the bottle of wine was already a great tasting wine. I'm probably off a little, (hopefully not a lot) but they were like "special" bottles of wine. I had a case when I departed Germany and the goal was to keep them forever. BUT they just tasted soooooooooooooooooo good that they didn't make it.

I traveled a lot to Italy also. Loved the wine there too. 19 hours from where I was at. So load up the Chow Chows and road trip to Italy! But when Germany is your back Yard and the Wine Festivals are two a season it was like Wine Fest every weekend!!!

I prefer something out of a box instead of a bottle, it doesn't spill as easy if you have to slam on the brakes.

Faq2, many moons ago, when I was a young buck, a couple girls brought the wine box and put it in the freezer. It was frozen and stuck there for months until an alcoholic co-worker came over. In the morning, he was passed out on the couch with his head on the plastic wine liner. Apparently, he shredded the box to get it out. Never asked if he had to nuke it to thaw. That must be some damn good $#!+!

That was at your house, no i didn't nuke it i put it in a pan of water on the stove. Box wine should have a warning label on it,,, i almost suffocated with that plastic on my head!

Come to think of it, that guy did actually have a solid black GSD.

Root 1 from Chile It's a $15.00 wine but is actually a 50.00 wine.  One of my all time favorites.  Why pay more :)

1964 Chateau Lafite Rotschild...
But I'll settle for a decent Pinot Noir, Barberra, or, on a hot day, Beaujolais
