Hundmutter will put your suggestions to the rest of the team for consideration.

TWC, can you please watch how you reply to members only trying to help. Thanks.

Sunsilver
thanks for your hint.
never used "search forum" option but after reading OP's question first think was to look at left side into menu and... nothing there.
perhaps i'm too slow. it took me to read your post to realize that yeah, there are some buttons at top of page and one for search :)
never noticed them. wondering why it there but not in left side menu navigation.

Admins--

It would be good to have the Search Forums button in both locations (please). Some of us would never think to look on the left side, but I found it easily where it is now (on top) some time ago (along with the Your Posts, Post New Topic, and Back to Main buttons). Depends on what people are used to.

I just looked up snuffle mats on the web since I had never heard of them, either. I suspect the reason they are not popular with working dogs is they'd quickly get destroyed and become a choking/swallowed object hazard. My current German Shepherd and a past Siberian Husky would have a snuffle mat completely destroyed and the pieces all over all over in a matter of minutes, and the German Shepherd would then proceed to eat the pieces. Probably all of them. If I supervised these dogs closely with a snuffle mat, I'd end up interrupting and taking away what these dogs would think was a toy associated with food/meals and that would be really counterproductive or unfair. There is an enormous difference between what is safe for some high drive working line dogs and most pets. I hope there is someone here with experience with lower drive or pet dogs and snuffle mats that can post something helpful in your Snuffle Mats thread.

I thought I did produce something helpful, I referred the OP to Facebook ! Dead serious, there is a shit-load of stuff on snuffle mats (and other brain stimulating toys mainly for non-working dogs) on FB. Even on GSD forums.

What FB needs (tho' I don't know how you'd do it effectively) is someone to get exactly the message across that GSCat writes so eloquently in the above post. Far too many people own far too many dogs of breeds which are really not biologically suited to the suburban and city lifestyle of the people posting in these (many) forums.

Hundmutter--

Thank you ;-) [embarrassed]

I'm sure the FB information you posted was great, but since I don't do FB, I opted for a *regular* search instead [rolleyes]
