Mr Darcy, we may have been...reality is reality, regardless of what some people think. I dont care what your intentions were, what motivated you, why or how, you kill innocent people for no good reason, I want you to feel what they felt, every single oz of it.
Yes, I want you to experience the terror, the fear, the reality that your life means nothing, just as your victims lives meant nothing to you.

Mindhunt, you have a child, what are your feelings on someone sick, depraved MF trying to take your child's life?
Would you feel as magnanimous with their life after?

Hired Dog, you asked how I would feel if one of my children was harmed or killed. I do know what it is like to have a small/young child harmed and in the worst way possible. I still remember the physician who specializes in these types of crimes asking me all the questions and me trying hard not to lose it completely, trying hard not to vomit. I wanted my pound of flesh from the perpetrators, and because the investigators completely screwed up the interview of my child along with a few other procedural mistakes such as breaking the chain of custody of the exam and other items, the charges were dropped. My child and I ran into them a few weeks later in a legal setting and I saw red, officers got between us. My very young child instead told me it's ok, then walked up to the perpetrators. In front of everyone looking up at them in the eye, my child forgave them for what they did and walked away head held high. Do I still get angry thinking about it? Yes, but I moved on because my child asked me to. Do I know what I would have done or would do if my child had died instead, I know I would not want them dead, however, making them suffer for a long time? I hope I never find out.

We are not going to agree on the death penalty. Simple as that. All the hypotheticals that you come up with will not change my mind.  Enjoy your evening and Christmas/Holiday Season

Mindhunt, it was simply a question, not hypotheticals to change your mind, that is not the point of this or any discussion I am involved in.
I am all in favor of keeping one like that alive, as long as they suffered longer and I am not speaking in some general terms of him being locked up.
Were I in your position, I can tell you that they would not have made it out of that place....and my child could forgive them after...I am very sorry for what your child had to go through, no kid should ever have to, regardless of what it is that hurts them.
Merry Christmas to you and your family as well, stay safe.

Mindhunt, that made me cry! Wow! Out of the mouths of babes...  I hope your child has been able to keep that sort of attitude, whatever has come their way in life!

I will never forget the time Corrie ten Boom recounts in her biography, when one of the guards at the concentration camp she was in came up to her and asked for forgiveness. She had a very hard time doing it, but she forgave him.

Unforgiveness binds the person refusing to forgive. Forgiveness sets them free. This is something I firmly believe, as part of my faith.

Sunsilver, my son, continues to astound me with his wisdom and huge heart. When he was born, my nurse said he was a special child based on his calm. Later when he got older, his eyes became a deep purple, twilight eyes as they are called by the Roma, and he would come up with the most amazing observations that would raise the hairs on your neck. He is now in his 30's and he has the most beautiful maroon eyes, they are constantly commented on. He never fails to amaze me with is insight and compassion. Thank you.

RIP Lisa Montgomery. Yes her crime was truly horrific;    ...but who benefits from her death-as-punishment ? A handful of people who are relatives of her victim, yeah - maybe, depending on their own views on the value of execution.

The child ?

The bastards who tortured Lisa throughout her child hood, and made her so ill in her adult life ? They can now fade back into obscurity and away from criticism.

The Federal officials and judiciary who decided this very sick, very disassociated woman should be put to death ?

Anybody else, really, among many millions of both US citizens and other inhabitants of the whole world ???
