What are your thoughts?

Nice clear set of films, with the hips well-positioned, it looks to me - but I never claim to be expert in these matters !
FWIW the elbows look very good to me, perhaps the hips a little less so ... I'd think the Left (R/H of pic) shows a little excess laxity - but maybe I'm seeing a possible problem where none really exists ? I'm sure someone will correct me.
Hope you get lots of replies. And that your friend gets great results.

Those hips look GREAT to me! Definitely good, IMO.

I don't know how to read elbows...

They look nice and tight, femar neck looks too have remolding on the left side more than right though? What was the result of these hips?
Tell your friend, well done for scoring.

Thanks everyone for your feed back.. my friend who owns this dog was pleased with the X-rays too.

Gucci65,
These X-rays were taken 12/10/2020 so she doesn’t have the results yet.

I'd say fair hips, shallow sockets, femoral heads are what my vet would refer to as "peg-like" rather than rounded, the left (as we see it) side has a bit of a point at the bottom of the femoral head. They're not bad but they're not great. Elbows look clean.

All joints are good. Positioning on hips is mediocre, at best...but in this case it doesn't matter since hips are very nice. Sockets are not shallow; they're pretty average. Patellas are fine and centered ok; but legs are not near parallel, nor is pelvis straight. There is no "point" on the femoral head on the right. That is simply a difference in view since the pelvis is tilted and the patella is rotates slightly more inward on that side. My vet techs would redo them, actually, if they shot one that "off" but they are just that good and I know I am very lucky. These are perfectly fine in terms of diagnostics- this dog has normal hips. OFA good/normal.

Not super stoked on the hips, elbows look good. Positioning on hips looks not great. Caveat: not a vet, not even remotely qualified to assess these things.

Edit: I might guess that the hips were taken not under sedation.

Thanks everyone... my friend is just waiting for the results. I will post when she gets them.

jillmissal ,
Actually the X-rays were taken under sedation. I believe I had mentioned that in the original post.

SummertimeGSD ,
Thanks for commenting, but I do not see shallow sockets. Again, I am no expert and my friend will just have to wait for OFA to rate these. I believe she said they were sent in digital so it should not take to long for her to get the results HOPEFULLY!

Jenni78,
Thank you.. I do not see shallow sockets either. As for positioning I do have to agree with you on that one. I did not say anything as this is not my dog, but if it was my vet he would have re-done them too. This X-ray is no so bad that they can not rate them and it is clear the hips will pass, but when I get an X-ray for my dog I too want it as perfect as can be.
