......My 8 year old miniture schnauzer was brought to hospital first for a lump on right side of her neck. I was tolled by the vet, no reason to be concerned as its just the pituitory gland and they some times become enlarged. Two days later I noticed a lump on jer chest about the size of a dime. Then 3 days later the dime sized lump was the size of a toony and swelled into the size of a softball and was very purple red in color. Vet said it was a insect bite and no need for concern. I asked if this lump could be related to lump on side of her neck, and was tolled the two were not related. Then 2 days later I noticed she was blotted and very gassy, lump on neck was still present and lump on chest has not gone away. Within 5 days she wouldn't eat and was taken back to clinic at which time we were tolled she was having a pancreas dysfunction. She was hospitalized and released next day. Wouldn't eat and fell over and rushed back to vet. Was tolled she is now eanemic and in need of a blood transfusion, had several seizures and kept over night and released the next day, because she was eating, drinking, pooping and peeing....that night she was still not very well and noticed she was cold and unresponsive, rushed back to the hospital and this time kept for 5 days. She has now been home for 8 days and slowly returning to normal. After all this, we were not provided any answers and had since fired our vet. Infection on neck has gone away with antibiotics. She continues to eat, but sleeps more now and has a problem getting up stairs. Can anyone out there tell me if they have experienced this. I'm aware that pancreas problems are suseptable in this breed. Thank you
