i don't see what could be wrong with handing that dog to someone, who do have use for him and would be willing to take.
nothing wrong with PTS as well but that's really should be only as a last resort, which in this case doesn't sound like.

K9L1, I have no words to describe my reaction to what you just posted. A dog that is very loving to family does not bite that family when they simply want to walk.
It mystifies me as to why people would keep a dog like that because personally, I do not and will not ever walk around my own house on egg shells, wondering when this dog will go off nor would I have any family members be in danger of being bitten by the house dog.

jettasmom - if i was single, childless I would discuss it with the op. Aren’t you the one with 10-20-30K in medical bills for your chronically sick dog? Some may think your effort is not worth it either.

OP asked for an alternative to euthanasia. I provided a logical and legal suggestion: a private security company which may be interested in such a dog (human aggressive with documented, unprovoked prey, defense, dominant, antisocial bites on passive humans).

Are these companies so crass they feed ol’roy, expose their dogs to the harsh elements and urban blight? Maybe so.

My suggestion was just that. It was a fair one and I stand by it.

I would never keep a dog that was unable to discriminate a threat from a non threat. I do see where they might be useful in

other circumstances, just not as a family pet that requires interacting with the public.

Hired
Its not like the dog is walking around all day looking for trouble. Its just those limited circumstances in which the dog is willing to bite a member of the house hold.

Thank you Rik.

K9L1, I understand but still no deal in my house.

GK1 really????? not sure where you get your info from but be careful what you spew out your mouth without any proof and if you have proof you best back it up other wise stop talking shit. Shows just what kind of person you are.

Lol you have or had a dog that bites your family and to you that’s ok, WOW. Like I said you take the OP’s dog since your fine with a dog that bites your family members
Unbelievable!!!!! Oh wait you would take the dog if you were single and no kids..... your all over the place.

jettasmom - yes really. Keep your pants on.

My posts are absolutely focused on logic and sensibility.

Where is your proof????? I’m dying to see it. Oh, that’s right you don’t have it. Besides WTH does what I spend on my dogs health have to do with this post???? NOTHING but you spewing lies.

No need for dying to see the proof. Going off (imperfect) memory. If you, jettasmom, are not the person with the frustratingly allergic dog with a condition which has been difficult and expensive to pinpoint and alleviate, then I stand corrected. You see I find it respectable, those who don't give up on their dogs.

Aside from the allergic dog issue, I stand by each and every one of my posts in this thread.
