The only search I can find is for registered user names.
Yes, I really just asked how to search. :(

Here is a good place to search the PDB.

Say I want to search for snuffle mats, how do I? I did want to search on here for snuffle mats, even snuffle rugs, before I posted about them today, though no clue how to. Even just now while making this reply, I again opened another window & typed snuffle mat into Search Forums here & nothing came up. One would think my own Thread from today would show up on this websites on search engine. Nope!
For everyone that says do your homework on here first, you'll find plenty of stuff about so & so or whatever, well just how does one do so?!
So, thank you in advance for explaining how to do so to the obviously clueless old dog that it must be next to impossible to teach new tricks.

TW C, look just above the first post in this thread. You will see a number of options:
← Back to Main Your posts Search forums Post new topic
Click on 'Search Forums' and it will allow you to choose which forum to search. If you don't know where the information might be, select 'all'.
It actually works pretty well. I am able to dig up posts I made ages ago, if I can just remember a few key words specific to that post.
Let's see what 'snuffle mats' brings up. (I've never heard of them before!) Okay, apparently the term has never been used on the forums until your post today. However, a quick Google search explained to me what they were: https://www.thehonestkitchen.com/blog/diy-make-your-dog-or-cat-a-snuffle-matt/ The people who post on this forum aren mainly working dog people, and a snuffle mat is more of a pet dog thing, which is probably why there's no reference to them in previous threads.
As for learning how to do stuff in the forum, click on 'Forum List in the left hand bar. It will bring up the Tutorial Page, which explains most of what you need to know to post pedigrees, pictutures, links, etc.

I was using the ALL feature. As said, snuffle mats did not come up even AFTER I had much earlier made the snuffle mat post. Thus my sincere consternation.
Yes, the people that post here are mainly "working dog" people. What like I should not be here posting here since I am not one of your kind?
Even "you" working dog folk posted earlier this year of being stuck inside due to COVID19, where something like a snuffle mat could have helped with dog boredom. Could have helped with human housebound boredom too, if they actually made one, instead of buying one.
Perhaps it could be another tool to use for puppies? I see all sorts of artificial hung things, strewn plastics & what not used in videos of working dog pups. Why not a snuffle mat too, since it appears most working dog people use artificial environments in the literal hundreds of videos I have watched.

Sunsilver was simply offering you help, telling you how to go about looking up things and you went off, again...I personally have had enough of your implosions.

someone put a lot of effort into trying to help with a problem you were having.
HD pretty much nailed it.
by Sunsilver on 11 October 2020 - 19:10
Rik, thumbs up. I did my best, and I don't feel my post was the least bit judgmental or condescending, just the TRUTH.
And I'm not going to try again. I'm tired of trying to help people who don't appreciate it.
People on this board are just not into snuffle mats. If you find that somehow hurtful to you, YOU are the one with the problem. You didn't get a response to your thread about them not because we think they are useless, but because we're just not familar with them.
And I would NEVER say anyone is stupid for asking questions. That's how we learn.

TWC: Obviously snuffle mats are not a major matter of interest on PDB (I guessed as much when you first posted the question); may I suggest instead that you search Facebook for them, where I just know you will find lots of information, including some videos on how to make them yourself. Know your arena !!!
But thank you for getting the "How to do a Search of PDB" issue raised; I often tell posters to do it, but then wonder if they are tech-savvy enough to work out 'How'; and it isn't all that clearly spelt out here if you are not used to experimenting with on-screen 'buttons'. TY to Sunny for her help. Maybe the Admins / Oli might think it worth putting up a Tutorial or Article specifically relating to it ? NB anybody doing a Search still has to think up the search terms / key-words relating to the subject they are interested in, of course, but I found that got easier the more I practised looking for things, when I started.
