Hi All,

I need to buy a new Rottweiler puppy, and I need that new puppy to have good bloodlines (preferably champions bloodlines).

Unfortunately I have no experience what so ever in Rottweilers, so I have no idea how to judge if any pedigree is good or bad...if his parents are champions or not, the puppy have good bloodlines or not :(

So can someone please help me and tell me where can I find more information about how to read a Rottweiler dog pidegree and how to judge if this pidegree is good or bad...in other words good bloodlines or not, have champion bloodlines or not...etc?

Please excuse my ignorance in my questions but I am very new to the Rottweiler world

Thanks in advance for your time and efforts

Hi...Pedigrees can be tricky. If you would like help reading one. Just contact me and I will go over it with you. There are some names to look for that are great to see in a pedigree.
Bronko Od' Dragicevica is 2001 world champ
Gringo won in 2010
Noro od Dragicevica won young world champ
Kennel names might be easier to direct you by.
Nicolas Lion
Von Zennith
Od Dragicevica
Schwaigger Wappen
Falconsnest
Von Haus Milsped
Von Hasan haus
Von Grossen Tal
Von Burgthan
Crossener Ranch

These are commonly found names. But it may just be a good idea to find a reputable breeder. I have pups for sale with parents from Europe. But I think you just want to know about pedigrees. Let me know if you need help with a specific pedigree. Also in the US my favorit Rott breeder is Cheri from Donnerberg. You cannot go wrong with her =) She is awesome!

BE VERY CAREFUL WHO YOU BUY FROM!!  There are a lot of crooks out there posing as "reputable breeders".   If you will tell me the name of the person or kennel that you are thinking of buying from I can tell you if I have heard or experienced anything bad about them.  Don't buy from any one in the state of Washington.   There is a woman in Arizona who buys unregistered puppies from backyard breeders, registers them as out of her dogs, and then sells the puppies for big prices.   Don't buy any puppies from Terry Cornish.   He will take your money to sell you a puppy and then not send it to you.  Or he will sell you a dog that he doesn't even own.

Don't ever buy a puppy before it is at least 8 weeks old.

After all the bad experiences I have had I will now only buy directly from Germany.  I now have 2 very nice young German puppies.   I and 3 other people bought frauds from Serbia.  The person there, Rottweiler Bomber, advertised one dog and sent another.  AKC did DNA testing and it showed each time that the dog was not of the parents listed on the pedigree!!   The dog I bought had the od Dragicevica kennel name on it.   The mixed up stories that came from both Bomber and Dragicevica lead one to believe they both purposely set out to commit fraud.  I would never have a Serbian dog, or a dog with od Dragicevica in the pedigree.

Don't be in a big hurry to buy.  If you rush into something or are pressured by someone into buying then chances are you will be disappointed later.  If someone tells you that "this is the best litter they have ever seen" don't believe them.  Take your time and do your internet research.   You can find out a lot about a dog's parents or a kennel by doing research on the internet.
One place I like to go is:  http://www.working-dog.eu .  You can get a lot of information there.
Another place is:  http://www.ADRK.eu .  This is the official German rottweiler site.
Here is another which is local (in the U.S.A.):  http://pawvillage.com

Where are you located? If you would like to send me a private message I will certainly help you with any knowledge I have from various breeders world wide, but a public forum is not the way to go. Good luck with finding your pup, remember ask for copies of all clearances hips, elbows hearts, it's not good enough unless you see the copies or get the numbers on the certificates.

Don't trust every breeder from Germany.
Like everywhere, even in Germany are breeders who only want to sell.
